Summary: Great location, very pleased to have a room heater at no extra charge. Kitchen struggled to serve breakfast at appointed time, or as ordered, or even to open the dining room and turn on the lights by 8 am. Some of it was language issues, some was poor communication between reception and kitchen. The hotel is a bit creaky, but you could call it character. I enjoyed my stay.

Summary: I stayed 2 delightful nights at the Ivanhoe. Your managers couldnt have been more helpful and thoughtful. The old part of the hotel is far nicer than the new annex. I stayed in a cosy room ( Col Sir Younghusband )with a fireplace, surrounded by thoughts on who had graced these rooms in the past. A place with a lot of character and lovely staff. Summary: We booked this hotel for its heritage and its connection to various historical figures. What we hadn't counted on was such a warm welcome. Absolutely nothing was too much trouble, and when we were asked what we would like for breakfast on the evening before, we requested some things that weren't on their breakfast menu (We hadn't seen it at that point)and they went out and bought them specially. We honestly cannot wait to visit again.

Summary: Ivanhoe is a real gem in a crowded hotel market in Darjeeling. Takes you back to the British colonial Era. will always be my first choice at Darjeeling.
