3 Bedroom Cottage in Hot Springs

This cozy cottage could not be located any closer to the tailwaters of the Jackson River. The wrap around deck and screened in porch will make you feel as if you are sitting right on top of the picturesque, cold water, trout stream. An ideal destination for the pursuit of wild Virginia trout, the river also offers countless other recreational opportunities. Easy river access is perfect for rafts, kayaks and floating in inner tubes. For those looking to stay dry, the Jackson River Scenic Trail is located directly behind the cottage and offers up to 20 miles of scenic hiking and biking access on a well maintained, crushed gravel path. The cottage is situated on approximately 4 acres of land with loads of space for other outdoor and field activities.

The cottage has 3 bedrooms featuring; 1 queen, 2 twins and a full size bed, comfortably sleeping five. There are two full baths, an outdoor shower as well as a washer & dryer. The cottage is equipped with internet & cable TV, but also bring your favorite book or DVD to unplug and relax. We have new decking and porch furniture to enjoy the screen porch and dining al fresco.

We are located 14 miles from the Historic Homestead Resort, fewer than 10 miles from the Town of Covington, and less than a mile away from the Cliff View Golf Club. The Greenbrier Resort is 35 minutes away as well.

Please check this website for the Gathright Dam pulses (approximately once a month). The water rises rapidly after the water has been released.

Summary: This cabin is in a nice location, right on the river. The deck and gazebo is super nice! Would definitely go back for a little longer stay!

Summary: This was a lovely spot to get away from it all and reconnect with friends. We enjoyed the deck overlooking the river during the day, and the screened porch was cozy at night. Truly a hidden piece of paradise!

Summary: We wanted a couple days to relax and unwind from the stress of everyday life. This property was a perfect choice. The Jackson River flows within feet of the property, cooling the air and giving a place to watch wildlife. We hiked the Jackson River Trail did a little fishing. To fully enjoy the trail, I wish we would have brought our bikes. The cottage was spotless and very comfortable. The only suggestion would be to extend the check out time to 11:00 instead of 10:00. We like to enjoy a leisurely late breakfast when relaxing and the screened-in porch was perfect for that. We felt a little rushed to be out by 10:00. Thank you for sharing your lovely place. Summary: Property was great, bed was comfy, home was perfectly appointed for a relaxing River vacay. Owners live next door and they are very friendly. One critique- We were not prepared for how terrible the tap water would smell and had to go buy bottled water after the first day. It was so bad we avoided showering bc the sulfur smell lingered on our skin. Overall, a little slice of paradise and great place to unwind.

Summary: We were so very happy with our stay at this peaceful, comfortable and thoughtfully stocked little gem on the bank of the Jackson River. The owners Nella and Jeff are also very responsive to any questions. We highly recommend this place and if we ever return to the area this is the place we will book. Absolutely gorgeous setting.

Summary: The property is off the beaten path directly on an idyllic section of the Jackson river with decking and a wonderful screened in porch promoting time with the scenery. A short hike or bike away is an amazing biking / walking / running trail. Everything was clean and the hosts set the example in proactive communications. I recommend this to anyone looking for a calm reprieve to an active in the mountains. We did a trip down the James, a trip down the Jackson, and explored an Aqua cave!
