Summary: We had a bungalow away from the main area so our wifi didn't work in the room. The door latch on the bathroom door didn't latch properly, so the door wouldn't stay shut. The latch on the window next to the door also didn't latch, so it could easily be opened from outside. The entire property seemed easily accessible to anyone but I did feel safe. The room was really lovely and private and the view was amazing. The bed was comfy but the mosquito net was pointless. The staff were very friendly and the food was delicious. Overall, I would stay here again as long as I have enough mobile data on my phone to keep a wifi connection.

Summary: Very laid back bohemian style hotel with a great array of rooms. Close to the beach and local restaurants. The hotel offers several excursions to nearby attractions such as Black River and YS falls. Very much enjoyed my stay off the beaten track

Summary: Wonderful stay at Jakes (including the resident gecko or 2). Beautiful properties and facilities. Great food and lovely staff. Location is fabulous away from the busy tourist areas with plenty of good dining choices locally.
