Whispering Palms is a self-contained 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom cottage, located on a privately owned beachfront property on the Jolly Harbour south beach.
30 steps away from your private patio and through the tropical garden will take you to the 3 km long white-sand beach.
A/C is not needed, as the high level of insulation keeps Whispering Palms beach cottage cool year-round and the open-plan concept with 3 sets of sliding doors allows for excellent airflow. The east-facing bedroom also has sliding doors and enjoys beautiful views of the garden. The powerful, yet silent "HUNTER" ceiling fan provides additional cooling comfort.
The bedroom can be set up with a queen size bed (2 meters long) or 2 singles.
You have a well-equipped kitchen, without dishwasher, an indoor as well as an outdoor dining area, a comfortable living room with Cable TV / DVD-Player and an additional front porch with sitting area.
Please note that smoking is not permitted inside.
The property does not offer the usage of a wash machine, however there is a washing center near the entrance to the boat yard.

Please take note that from mid-October to mid-May the owners will be occupying the main house. However, your 100 % privacy, tranquility and beach access is guaranteed. A garden shower is available.

The friendly resident cat is on the property all year-round and will be fed by the property manager, when the owners are off island during the summer months.

Last but not least the beach orientation allows you from November until the end of March to enjoy beautiful Antigua sunsets, why not with a refreshing cocktail?

Summary: Bright, spacious, airy, comfortable, nicely decorated - the hosts have thought of everything to make your stay pleasant and convenient. Difficult to think of a better location as it has immediate access to a stretch of sandy beach that is almost completely deserted and includes several shade trees, as well as being only a short walk from the Epicurean supermarket and Sandra’s beach bar. The accommodation is purpose built and has several sunny terraces to sit on, and is surrounded by a beautiful garden full of small birds. And to complete the picture, Pierre and Patricia are charming and helpful hosts.

Summary: The location and accommodations are top notch. The more we learned about Antigua the more we came to appreciate our choice of lodgings. It is not a large apartment, but it is perfectly suited for a couple and access to the beach is as advertised. We got to know our hosts a bit and they are charming and interesting people.

Summary: Pierre and Patricia were the nicest and most helpful hosts that you could have. Their location is one of the best on the island. We had a car and explored other beaches but found our beach on the top of the list. The apartment was nice and clean with all the cooking wear necessary which was important to us. If we want back to the island we will stay with them agin. Enjoy

Summary: Well presented property in a beautiful location. The resident cats are very friendly which adds to the homely feel. If you like cooking please be aware that there is no oven or grill. Would we stay there again?..... Oh yes.

Summary: This location was perfect in several ways: beautifully landscaped with a variety of flowers and plants, steps to the beach which was long, beautiful and quietly away from resorts. The peaceful neighborhood was close to many excellent restaurants and shops, an added convenience. The guest house was well laid out, tastefully furnished and breezy. The owners are awesome, gracious and friendly! We enjoyed every aspect of our visit!

Summary: This villa is very comfortable but its location is absolutely wonderful. Just a few steps from the private pool through a gate to a mile long sandy beach. All the locals were very friendly and helpful and made us feel at home. Could not recommend this villa highly enough. Thank you to all. We hope to return.

Summary: The biggest plus for this vacation property is having the ocean for a back yard! Having the pool to cool off in whenever necessary was also a huge reason we enjoyed our stay very much! The combination of pool, and beach was perfect. I found that not having to make plans to drive to a beach was truly worth every penny. It was so wonderful to just walk a hundred feet or so to put your toes in the ocean, or relax on the beach. And what a beach! Great morning walks, and great swimming anytime. The guest house property was really comfortable for the two of us! Clean, Comfortable, and like new! Cornelia, the property manager was helpful and friendly, as was Frances. In fact, everyone we met in Antigua was friendly, and made us feel relaxed and welcome. Groceries are close by, as are restaurants, as mentioned by the previous reviewer ( who happens to be the most wonderful vacation mate I could wish for). If you rent a car and need to top off the gas, there's a handy gas station about a mile away at the harbor marina/boatyard. Be careful if you're not used to driving on the left. That gave me a thrill or two, but I hope to return to Jolly Harbour someday, and continue more exploration. Lastly, I'll say that there are a couple small All Inclusives at the other end of the beach, but I was very happy that we chose to have our own private little piece of paradise. Oh, there are neighbors, but you'd hardly know they are there. I'm sure many enjoy the convenience of the All Inclusive, but enjoying the serenity of this beautiful beach by ourselves really seemed to make our vacation just that much more special!

Summary: We stayed for 8 nights and absolutely loved the house and the location. Jolly Harbor is conveniently located near wonderful restaurants and grocery shopping. The beach is one of the most beautiful I have seen and I have visited ten different islands. The gardens around the house are colorful and beautiful as well as the many birds. The grounds are beautifully maintained as well as the pool. The kitchen was equipped nicely except for a few items. Beach lounges and beach umbrella provided were very much appreciated. A rental car came in handy as Antigua is a large island with many wonderful places to visit. However, if you just want to relax at Jolly Beach a golf cart is all you need to get to the store or harbor where there are several restaurants. I look forward to visiting again as it was a wonderfully relaxing vacation.
