Positive: Nice big house. Comfortable and clean with good access to everything in Yachats. Nice kitchen. Views of the ocean. Nice and clean hot tub
Negative: We were across the highway from the ocean. However, the only big issue is the cost. $500 a night for the Oregon Coast is just such an inflated price. We travel a lot and rarely come here anymore. It had its best days 10 to 20 years ago
Summary: Relaxing, fun and because of the price - stay away from Meredith Lodging

Positive: The house was in a good location across the highway from the shoreline drive, so it was easy to walk over and enjoy beautiful sunsets. The bedrooms were private and comfortable. The hot tub was large and worked well. The yard is a little wild, but beautiful. Dog-friendly is much appreciated. Communication with the property management company was very good.
Negative: As other reviews point out, there is a lot of deferred maintenance in this house. The windows are cheap and filmed up, obscuring beautiful views. The interior paint and other finish work is in poor condition, and some of the cleaning had not been thorough. At one point our modest use of electricity (two blow dryers running at opposite ends of the house) blew a fuse, and we had to go searching for the breaker box in the garage. As noted in advance, the oven was nonfunctioning. Also, one of the lights essential for the dining area flickered constantly to the point that we used the area in semi darkness. None of these complaints is big in itself, but cumulatively it just didn't feel like a place that had been well cared for, especially given what is charged for staying there. I would go back, but might look around at other options. Yachats is great, and we had a good time. One more point, and this is not related to upkeep--access to the driveway directly in the highway is a little tricky and would be dangerous during a heavy traffic time. I found it helpful to back in so I could exit more safely.
