From the moment I arrived, I felt warmly welcomed by the owners, who are not only friendly but also incredibly organized, making the check-in process seamless. Their willingness to communicate made me feel at home, as they were always ready to provide recommendations and insights about the local area. The guesthouse itself is a gem. My room was spacious, exceptionally clean, and surprisingly comfortable. I appreciated how the accommodation was surrounded by beautiful landscaping, which added to the tranquil atmosphere of the property. Each morning, I eagerly anticipated breakfast, which was nothing short of delicious. The flavors of local cuisine made waking up well worth it. Although the guesthouse is situated a little away from the hustle and bustle of the city center, this turned out to be an advantage. The location offered a peaceful retreat while still being conveniently close to the action. It took only about five minutes to reach downtown Kampot via a tuk-tuk or motorbike, both of which are easily accessible through the guesthouse. In addition, Kampot Origin has motorbikes available for rent, which allowed me to explore the surrounding areas at my own pace. Another delightful surprise was the laundry service, offered at an incredibly low rate of just $1 for 1 kg. This thoughtful touch added to the overall convenience of my stay, allowing me to travel light and take care of my needs without hassle. Kampot Origin Guesthouse exemplifies a perfect blend of comfort, convenience, and hospitality. The family that owns it creates an environment that feels both welcoming and organized. Positive: Kong, The Manager..: has made "Kampot Origin's" list of 'likes', very numerous (1)..The room itself..: fitted out with extremely good quality fittings. (A great 'investment'..: long term ) The room is spacious, clean, all facilities in excellent condition. Wi-Fi? Excellent ! Kong is always available for ANY issue that arises. None did ! A/C/,fridge/kettle/good supply of teas and coffees , tuk tuk to town, upon request..: motor scooters for rent. Lots of 'storage' spaces...practical areas used in the room,for this reason. (2)..Breakfast is included...Kong is very 'flexible' about the time that suits his guests ..and a very generous breakfast it is.. Kong goes out of his way to make your stay memorable..I'll always remember him as a gentleman. He comes with lots of experience in 'running' a guesthouse...as a result..: any traveller will NOT be disappointed. (3)..:" Value for Money" ? Probably the best I have exerienced in several years in Sth East Asia. He could charge more...: it would still be great value . Location is a quiet side street...5-10 minutes by tuktuk/scooter to Kampot itself. When renovations on the restaurant are completed in about a week ...: improve "Kampot Origin " even more. I'd not hesitate to stay again and not hesitate to recommend to any and all travellers to stay. I wish him all the deserved success which he ,through his attitude/politeness/hard work/.....: will achieve ...that's for sure !
Negative: There was nothing to 'dislike' about "Kampot Origin". If any guest can find one ...they should look hard at why they are traveling! For the cost, currently, Kong is charging...it's impossible, in all honesty to list any 'dislike'...! (If a guest DID have an issue...Kong would immediately make it right). Please take all my 'likes' very seriously! They are a genuine summary /view of how I experienced " Kampot Origin ".

Positive: We don't plan to go to Kampot, but it happened when we felt bored at home after workdays. We decided to stay at Kampot Origin Guesthouse because it's not far from the center, has an affordable price, and is very clean, especially their beddings. The staff who attended to us were very accommodating. Hopefully, next week we will still be staying at this guesthouse.
Negative: Honestly, what I didn't like was the road outside, especially if it was raining. But still passable, and transportation has no problem even at night.
Summary: It is quiet and good for people who want peace of mind and relaxation after work.
