Positive: The studios are located in the lovely seaside town of Avlemonas. Our host accommodated our early arrival and allowed us to extend our departure time for a couple more hours due to a later flight. She also gave us lots of useful information about the island. The property has everything you need with cooking facilities if you require and is situated just a few yards from the sea. We visited in mid-September and there was a choice of 4 or 5 restaurants for dinner. Parking facilities are excellent - you will need a hire car to get around the island! Kythera is a beautiful island and, having explored most of it, we can say Avlemonas is the most charming seaside village to stay in. Kanellis studios is a great place to stay and use as a base to explore the island.
Negative: The bathroom was fine functionally but the decor could do with being brighter.
Summary: Well-appointed apartment with friendly and helpful staff in a charming coastal village.

Positive: Perfect location, 1 minute walk to a choice of swimming spots. Clean and spacious apartment that was very quiet. Staff were always helpful and available. There is a mini market next door and tavernas close by.

Positive: The room was clean. The lady that cleaned our room was nice.
Negative: The room didn’t meet expectations. Despite the fact that we reserved a “superior” room, the advertised pictures didn’t match what the online pictures suggested. The owner wasn’t receptive or sympathetic when I tried to discuss this concern. The bed was very hard. The overhead fan in the room was so noisy that it kept us awake. The door lock was badly aligned, making it hard to secure the room. Avlemonas is pretty isolated as a location, and even though we had a car it took at least half an hour to get to other food and drink locations. I would t locate there again. Left after 4 nights despite paying for 5.

Positive: The property was very charming and provided a beautiful view of Avlemonas beach. All facilities were very clean, and Andriana (the host) was very helpful in getting us settled in. Andriana personally also went above and beyond in helping me to ship a forgotten item back to me free of charge.
Negative: The property is situated next to a venue/restaurant - there was a function there during one night that went until 2:30am that was very loud!
Summary: We had a beautiful time at Kanellis Studios - our stay was very relaxing and the facilities were brilliant!
