Summary: We were really looking forward to this resort. We booked the Original Thai Suite. The pictures on their website looked amazing. We are sorry to report that the actual place is nothing like that. The only positive we can say is the location and views from the terrace. That said, this "resort" is a mere shadow of what it might have been 20 years ago. I don't know where these good reviews come from. Where to start... There are many, many maintenance issues, burned out lights, cable-ends sticking out of the wall, nails protruding from the wooden floor, creating a safety hazard, just to name a few. The bath mats in our "suite" were soiled, there was not enough hot water to fill the in-room bathtub. We took cold showers afterward our half-bath to rinse off. The breakfast choices were extremely limited, and mostly cold, resembling an average 3-star hotel. Walking on the premises, we saw several abandoned units. The issues are so blatant that the only explanation I could possibly come up with is that the owner might be faced with mounting maintenance/operating cost to keep this place afloat and are skimping wherever they can. At this price-point, this complex is absolutely not worth it. Most guests probably just stay one time to never return making this even worse. As a seasoned Thailand and SE Asia traveler who stayed at countless hotels of various categories, I can truly say that the quality to price ratio here is way off. I cannot recommend Katiliya.

Summary: Lovely happy staff. Great variety of hot and cold options for breakfast. Rooms large and private. Amazing views through the jungle canopy with variety of wildlife to spot.

Summary: The setting up high in mountain is amazing. But minimal services at the hotel requiring frequent transport into town which got expensive. Pool area poorly kept.

Summary: Delightful resort surrounded by tropical jungle. The high elevation meant you could open the windows and just let the cool evening breezes carry the sounds of nature. The rooms were huge and service was excellent. The fixtures were dated however, but that's my only criticism.
