Positive: Beautiful stay at the Kaya Imani paradise. What stood out was the beautiful shared spaces, friendly staff, delicious nutritious food and drinks offerings, and accessibility to the beach.

Negative: Very minor but while the staff were aware of my dietary requirements (vegan), it wasn't always clear they understood what foods I could/couldn't eat and there were no markings to make me aware of what was clear for me to eat.

Positive: We stayed here for a little over a week after coming back from a safari, and it was the perfect place to unwind. Lindsay has truly created something very special and unique. Kaya Imani is beautifully located right on the beach, surrounded by shady grounds. There are only a few accommodations, all individually designed and built in traditional architecture with beautiful makuti roofs. Everything feels very authentic — even old boats have been repurposed into furniture. You sleep under a mosquito net and fall asleep to the sounds of nature. Simply magical. The food was freshly prepared every day and always fantastic. Special dietary needs (we are gluten-free) were handled effortlessly. The entire team was incredibly kind and welcoming. If you’re looking for something more individual and charming instead of the standard hotels along Diani Beach, this is the perfect place. Highly recommended — keep up the amazing work!

Positive: What can we say…, paradise on earth!!! This location is definitely something uniquely special! Relaxing and coming totally down from the second you enter Kaya Imani! Wonderful garden with a lot of possibilities to relax, lovingly and tastefully designed rooms and you can feel the love and the respect of the owners, Lindsay and Eirik, towards the culture, the land and its people in every single detail… Incredibly nice, friendly and motivated employees who love to work there which says a lot about the owners…! They understand themselves as part of a big family and really live that. Very very nice, fresh and healthy food, prepared with lots of love and care. A beach where you often are all by yourself with an ocean which is perfect for swimming. Last but not least the best massage ever… Thanks again, Mathilda!!! We traveled and have seen a lot, but this vacation was location- atmosphere and spiritwise definitely the best of our entire life! More is not possible!!! Counting the months until coming back…

Positive: Trust me, this place is everything you need. Everything here is in harmony with nature. The houses, the pool, the meditation circle, everything seems to be integrated into nature and belongs exactly where it is. Eirik's stunning art makes this place even more special. It's the perfect place to relax, meditate, finding peace or just existing. The entire Kaya family is very welcoming and makes sure you have everything you need. The food is excellent and always freshly prepared. They made sure that there was always a gluten-free alternative for me. Even in the mornings, there was delicious, gluten-free, homemade bread. You can tell that Lindsay and Eirik have put so much heart into this place. They create a space to connect with others (if you want to). The vibe is unique. We didn't feel like guests, but rather like part of a community. PS: the dogs are amazing. We wanted to steal one, but it didn’t work 😄

Summary: It's not a hotel you book. It's a piece of paradise that you get to be a part of for a while.

Positive: I love how one enters into a preserved forest to then discover a central area of unique spaces: including a pool that feels like a jungle oasis! There is a traditional makuti roof bar, a central firepit for evening gatherings, meditation space, and tables scattered for private or social candle lit dinners. All of this accompanied by the soundtrack of the forest including bush babies. The entire space embodies freedom and creativity with wall art, one off product designs, and other art made by the resident artist. Rooms are all unique and I was lucky to stay in the mosaic room... The staff welcomes you in ways that makes it feel like you have entered their personal home; they are grounded, warm and professional. I appreciated their calm presence. I attended a "self-inquiry" workshop one day which was a beautiful opportunity to connect both with other guests and people from the local village. Not to be forgotten the direct beach access for watching the sun rise or early morning walks...to me it was the perfect place to reconnect.✨

Positive: The spirit at Kaya Kwetu is one of love and tranquility and, together with the constant sounds of the waves and the birds, feels a bit paradise-ish. Lindsay and her team are very attentive and helpful from first contact, special food requirements, transport options and late checkout. The creativity and vibe of the unique rooms has one transported into another world and it's all relaxation and connecting with nature. From the "jungle pool" to the beach walks and healthy meal options, a stay at Kaya feels like rejuvenation therapy :-)
