Keepin it Reel is a fishing themed lower rental unit on Long Lake. It has one bedroom with 2 queen beds. Then the living room has a pullout sofa and futon perfect for kids or extra guests. The kitchen is cozy but provides everything you need for your home away from home. It has a refrigerator, stove, oven, microwave, coffee maker, dishes and utensils. We do try to include the basic pantry items of coffee, sugar, ketchup, paper towels etc. but can not always guarantee them. Our full bathroom has a standup shower. Fresh bath towels and linens are always provided. We have a nice grilling area and outdoor space around the fire pit. There you can easily enjoy the fantastic view of Long Lake. Enjoy the lake experience with other comforts of home like Satellite, Wifi and our Washer/Dryer. Kids and dogs are welcome. There is a $15 per night fee for dogs. Many of the outdoor amenities are shared with the upper unit, which is the owner when he is in town. The large dock is perfect for chilling, fishing and large enough to park your boat. Please ask about a boat slip. We provide a few fishing poles and outdoor seating. The fishing is great from the dock or shore so come prepared to reel them in! Please note that our lake access gets deep fast, it does not have a good shore beach. The dock gives you nice water entrance for swimming so in the summer months swim out to our personal raft with a water slide. Take advantage of our three single passenger kayaks and paddle board. We really recommend the tranquil experience at sunrise or sunset on Long Lake. Take in the long nights around our outdoor fire pit. There is plenty of space for all of you to enjoy and relax. CAST-A-WAVES has free off-street parking. Blacktop roads connect to our property so you will not have to drive on dirt roads. We have a great location walking distance from Harbor View in Phillips. You will be able to enjoy the nightlife and safely walk home! Also is accessible from the snowmobile trails for your winter fun.

Summary: Nice place and location, clean and tidy. However, if you are looking for privacy, I would not recommend. All outdoor space is SHARED with owner and whomever he has over on the weekend. Rental and owner living quarters separated only by a hollow interior door. Not quiet, as owners television is on 24/7, and can be heard clearly through the ductwork all day and night. Owner‘s dog is really great, but really complicates things when you try to stay in the rental with pets. Woken up at 5:30 AM by owners, dog barking and him having a conversation with someone at his door in the morning, so not necessarily a place of privacy and quiet to relax. Dock was in used by owner and his friends occasionally, so you’re really not getting the entire rental to yourself. Nice clean place and a great location, but it’s definitely a shared space; not a private rental as one would expect.

Summary: there is absolutely no soundproofing from the upper unit and the lower. you could hear: their tv on all night long, walking back and forth very loudly, one morning it sounded like boots on around 3:00am; the sound proofing is so bad, while trying to sleep, you would even have to listen to the upper unit using the bathroom (urinating, then the flushing). my wife is 5’ 2”; the shower is so small, with a non-adjustable head, that the water shot over her head. she couldnt back up enough to have it hit her body direct. location and appearance was nice and clean, but it is not a peaceful setting at all. ultimately had to wear ear plugs to sleep.

Summary: This is a well located property right on the water and near to town. We had problems but the property manager did communicate well and did her best to resolve what she could. I recommend taking the upstairs and downstairs or just the upstairs as there is a lot of noise below, especially with a rowdy group above as we had unfortunately. There were other problems that were just bad luck such as the furnace had gone out, the stove was broken and the wifi was running at .17 less than one megabyte so even the internet on the phone it would not come up. Notwithstanding, the property manager did try to get these items fixed. A space heater was available and the furnace people came in the next day to try to fix it. A new stove was ordered but could not be delivered until two days after we arrived. We were unsuccessful at getting the wifi reset. So after two days of insufficient rest because of the group upstairs and the other issues, we found another place to go where we had stayed previously and let the property manager know. They were kind enough to return the two days that we did not use. Because this place is right on the lake, it would be great for fishing or boating. The owner and the property manager seem like great people, but just had a lot of things go wrong during the time that we stayed at the property.

Summary: The unit was very clean which is one of the most important factors for us. The door was unlocked when we arrived which the owner said he would talk with his cleaning staff. We figured out why it was unlocked as it was very difficult to open with the key. One of the queen beds was broken and we ended up in the middle of the bed. They have a fire pit which we used. Nice location. We walked to a local bar/restaurant. Didn't catch any panfish but there were quite a few musky fishermen out.
