Positive: As you may guess, this 5 star superior hotel is exactly that - superior. Clean throughout, great rooms (I had the mountain view) mattresses superb quality. Numerous dining options in the hotel, really good kitchen. Also for the breakfast, really good service. The location is amazing if you are into hiking and the hotel also organizes tours, so you can just check with the tour desk. Don't forget the use the swing!

Positive: Unfortunately we only stayed one night here as a stop to visit Berchtesgaden but a perfect spot. We drove and whilst we had to pay to park, this wasn't a problem. Check in was easy and our room was large and very comfortable. We did eat in the Restaurant Johann Grill where the food was excellent and very Bavarian. This hotel is a perfect location for visiting Berchtesgaden. Just wish we'd had more time to visit the surrounding countryside.
Negative: The service in the restaurant (Johann Grill) was initially very slow and then very rushed and just needed to slow down a little i.e. we had our bread with flavoured butters at the same time as our first course. It appeared some of the staff were a little pre-occupied with other guests. A good meal but the service could have been a little better for the quality of the hotel.
Summary: Fantastic hotel in an amazing location. A shame we couldn't stay longer to utilise all facilities.

Positive: We stayed there because it was the ideal starting point for a hike we planned. We loved breakfast!! We used the sauna and swimming pools and we found them outstanding.
Negative: Too large, almost gigantic for our taste, and this suits little the "Aplin lifestyle" that they advertise.

Positive: I loved the location, the service, the cleanliness, the peace and quiet, the design, the comfort, the staff (both men and women), the breakfast, the lobby, and the lawns.
Negative: I didn’t like the prices at the hotel. Since the hotel is quite isolated, guests are highly dependent on it. The price of a glass of water is outrageous. Everything costs money. You constantly feel how the staff is gently trying to nudge you into ordering dinner. You sit in the lobby, and every few seconds you're asked again if you’d like something else. This isn’t a hotel — it’s a money-printing machine.

Positive: Exceptional Liked · absolute everything the room was fantastic with amazing views. Internet was really good. Breakfast was the best not many hotels in my opinion do later breakfast service, however breakfast was until 12pm (Brilliant) and the food was great with loads of choices. We booked 2 evening meals during our stay and both fantastic the staff could not do enough always filling up our wine glasses 🍷😁We also visited a well deserved relaxation in the spa after out Eagles Nest Tour which had been on a cold rainy morning the outdoor pool which was heated to perfection was the icing on the cake. The bar in the hotel is a must the staff will make you absolutely anything to drink and will also recommend something different to try. The fire was so welcoming and a great feature on a chilly night. The food in the bar looked delicious especially the hotdog but unfortunately never got to sample one. We walked in to Berchtesgaden from the hotel it was really nice and worth the walk loved the town. Finally to sum the stay up.. We can not wait to come back. Thank you 🤞😘
Negative: The staff in the spa was unfriendly which is a shame because this is not the case with the rest of the staff in the hotel.

Positive: This was an extravagant trip and extravagant stay for us. Kempinski treated us very very well, upgrading our room, and provided a celebratory birthday cake….so nice! The breakfast was extraordinary, the views magnificent, and the pool was WOW! What a background.

Positive: Up there on the hill we enjoyed our holidays with good food, great service, mesmerising walks and a sense of history- the hotel is right next to where Adolf Hitler lived!! Kempinski is not cheap but it’s worth it!!
Negative: There is a piano out at the lounge but I never saw anyone performing with it. What a waste.
