Travel Purpose: business

Positive: Kilele was clean, had a nice pool, working AC, nice views, and accommodating and helpful staff. The in-house chef was a plus for the days we didn't have plans for lunch. When we went to the beach, we got to borrow beach towels which was great.

Negative: There was not any storage space for clothes - which makes it difficult to stay organized. I would suggest adding closet space in the rooms and trash cans in the bathrooms. Kilele was located so that you had to either walk for at least 15-20 minutes to get to the water/shela centre, and 50 minutes to lamu town. The prices for transportation to and from water/shela centre (in the electric car) was costly - and it was quite a challenging walk in the heat. On top of this the boat rides to Manda island and lamu town was expensive, so it added up in the end. It's something I wish I would have known before hand.

Summary: Overall it was a nice stay. The AC was the highlight as Lamu is very hot and humid.
