Built in 1840, Killeen House, Bushypark, Galway is situated on 25 acres of gardens and grounds and one of our walkways leads to the historic Galway - Clifden railway line. This luxurious house offers privacy and seclusion and yet is only 10 minutes from Galway City centre. It is perfectly situated for exploring the medieval city of Galway, Connemara and the Wild Atlantic Way. Knock Shrine, County Mayo, is an hour's drive away.
Killeen House provides luxury holiday accommodation and for the convenience of our guests a continental breakfast is provided with our compliments each morning.
Outdoor monitored CCTV is provided for your security and safety.
Our caretakers cottage is located close to the house and a host is always available should you need any assistance during your stay.

Summary: The house is fabulous as well as the grounds. There is plenty of parking. There was lots of food for breakfast & a large kitchen. We were 8 adults & we all had our own space to be alone or gather as a group! Thank you Catherine for the lovely flowers that greeted us! One car had a challenge finding the place where the other car went straight to it! Be sure to make note that check in is in BETWEEN 4 & 6PM, you will be met & given the key & stay to check out giving the key back. A fabulous house to stay just out side Galway city.

Summary: Killeen House is a truly special home...manor! We spent four nights there with family members ranging from 6 to 77 years old. More space than we needed, modern bathrooms, well appointed kitchen and bathrooms/closets with plentiful towels (although I thought there would be shower/bath soap & shampoo). We largely ate out while exploring, but were able to prep food and eat in the wonderful kitchen and dining room too. And even enjoyed a peat fire one evening. The grounds are stunning!! We wish we'd had more time to relax and explore the property, but we were in tourist mode. I did text the host during the stay with a question and didn't hear back; however, it wasn't an emergency, and I didn't follow up with a call. Kelehan's pub/restaurant up the street is delicious and spacious. We'd definitely stay here again!

Summary: My large family really enjoyed our stay at the Killeen House. The house was spacious and offered many places to spend time together -- we especially enjoyed sitting around the fireplace. The grounds are well-kept and beautiful. It felt like we were transported in time (in a good way!). The rooms were large and home-y and the beds were comfortable. The location was conveniently 10 minutes from Galway town center but it truly felt like we were out in country because of how peaceful it was. Would recommend this house for a unique experience for a larger group!

Summary: We had a wonderful stay at Killeen House! The best part by far were the incredible grounds. We had kids ranging in age from 4-17 and each one (and the adults!) absolutely loved exploring and playing in the grounds. The house itself is well-appointed and comfortable. Our only feedback is the house has a slightly musty smell, but it did not stop us from enjoying our stay. We would stay here again and recommend it to friends/family!

Summary: Beautiful property, plenty of space…it is old as you would expect but everything worked. Great location, accommodating host…great place for a large group that wants to be outside of the hustle and bustle of town.

Summary: My husband and son took a trip to Ireland with other Dads/sons. They stayed three nights in the Killeen House and were just thrilled with every thing that it had to offer. Catherine was quick and easy to communicate with and offered a lovely variety of food to snack on and breakfast. The house was very clean and a welcome place to have a large gathering after day trips. We will definitely be staying there again when we go back to see my husband’s siblings.

Summary: We had a great stay at the Killeen House and Gardens. We were 7 adults and there was plenty room to house more. The place is huge with so many bedrooms and a wonderful living room, dining room and kitchen area for all guests to gather together. The host Catherine was very accommodating to our needs (early check in) and available in a timely manner for any questions we had throughout our stay. The grounds are beautiful and the location was perfect. It didn’t affect us, but the only thing I would mention is the heater for the house is on a timer, so just something to be mindful of in the colder months. Otherwise we couldn’t say enough good things about this place! Would definitely recommend and would stay here again.
