Positive: Traditional Tatami, see the beach from window, beautiful gardens in neighborhood, safe and pleasant

Negative: Gets a bit cold in December and the mini split wasn’t quite sufficient the first day.

Summary: Very lovely and highly recommend. Susami is darling 🫶

Positive: KOMUGi was a great place to stay. The house may be basic, but it has everything you need. We loved having access to a kitchen, which has a stove, rice cooker, microwave and stovetop kettle. The futon beds on the tatami mat were perfectly comfortable, as was the living area. Walking to the local onsen (3 mins walk) to wash meant we didn’t miss having a bath/shower at all. There are nice walks along the Ohechi route of the Kumano Kodo; we walked to Esumi one day and Kii-Hiki another and saw some amazing wildlife.

Positive: It’s exactly how you can imagine it. It’s a whole apartment above the garages from the owner. It was clean, comfortable and really cute. I felt really welcomed. The toilet was a bit funny but it worked perfectly fine. It’s so close to a beautiful beach! And for the price it’s so worth it, even though there is no shower in the apartment, but there are cleaning possibilities near.
