Positive: The waterpark was lovely, the kids easily spent a full day there. The wife was really happy with the spa. The reception staff were very helpful and efficient. The kayaking was great and easy for the family. The staff in the Kayaking and all the other facilities were really friendly, not resort friendly but genuinely friendly.
Negative: The cinema could be better. It has the best seating arrangement in a theatre I have seen, basically a the seating area was a family mattress. But the problem was the projector was old and the image wasn't too good. But I'm sure this will be fixed soon.

Positive: The facilities are great but the water in the pool and water park was too cold, even in the afternoons when the sun is at its peak. I would highly recommend heating up the water.

Positive: Kuriftu is a traditional resort in a beautiful location on Lake Kuriftu. The transport from Addis to Bischoftu was on time and very well organised. We liked the entire facility and the mix of traditional and modern design. There is a beautifully grown and well-kept garden with individual guest houses that feel like a little piece of paradise. Depending on which guest house you are staying in, it is more or less quiet. The rooms were spacious and clean, with 24-hour electricity, a perfect shower and Wi-Fi. The two beautifully situated lakeside restaurants offer a magnificent view of the sunset over the lake in the evening.
Negative: The staff is generally very friendly and attentive and does its best, but for international customers like me (and others) it was quite difficult to communicate because hardly anyone spoke really good enough English. With the exception of the supervisors, there were large gaps in the average problem-solving skills of the staff in all fields, which indicated a lack of training and professionalism (incorrect bookings at the spa and waiting times even though there were no other guests, strange rules at the water park that were not communicated in advance, misunderstandings and a lack of follow-up at the reception). No one from the senior management was available at all, but luckily there were some employees (mainly supervisors) who went above and beyond to fill this general void (e.g. Mohammed, the restaurant manager). Positive: Beautifully built, tasteful design, nice pools.
Negative: Toilet did not flush, water drain was clogged, mini bar and the fridge was not working. The staff was not well trained, organized, nor friendly, missing management of the place, almost nothing works properly, the food was terrible. We were asked to pay more than what is on booking and what was agreed.
Summary: Expensive and not even a mediocre standard.
