Positive: The perfect stop-off after crossing the Alpine Route from Toyama. Baggage-forwarding service from Toyama delivers directly to hotel. Spotlessly clean, located close to forest, very tranquil - spa hotel with own onsen - all traditionally Japanese, so if you want the Japanese experience, not the 'standard western hotel' experience, this is perfect. "Western-style" dinner options are limited in town, but there is a beautiful family Ramen restaurant nearby. Helpful and accommodating staff.

Negative: The hotel is clearly catering for Japanese tourists and there is little signage in English and none in other European languages. Only a few hotel staff speak some English, but they are very helpful. The hotel is about 10 min walk from the bus stop that provides a link to the major town Omachi. The hotel provides a shuttle service to the bus stop on request.
