Positive: For the price and it not being a "franchise", older motel, it exceeded my expectations. Accommodations had been modernized and were clean. the beds were comfortable and the location was quiet. Thankful that there was availability due to it being a last minute booking. We were there due to a late night game that my son had to play in a basketball tournament at The Big House. The service was very nice and friendly.
Negative: The cover at the top of the vent on the A/C in our room did not raise high enough to allow the air to fill the room. It was angled in such a way that the airflow was mostly blowing directly into the bed in front of it, which make the other half of the room feel too warm. This was felt dramatically more when we came out of the hot shower and the steam filled the room on that side. We had to lower the temperature significantly to cool the opposite side of the room. In turn, that made the person in the bed near to the A/C extremely cold. It worked out because my son and I just switched beds due to the fact I'm always hot anyway. Perhaps other rooms, with only one bed or rooms where a bed is not placed directly in front of the A/C, won't have this problem. My son didn't like the water pressure in the shower. I have to agree that it was uncomfortably piercing but not a deal breaker.
Summary: Exceeding my expectations, very much worth the value and I'd stay here again.

Positive: I was pleasantly surprised. The bathroom fixtures were new and overall the room seemed recently refurbished. The AC worked well, which is often a problem at smaller motels in FL. The towels were also better than I expected. Internet was blazing fast. And the owners (I assume they were owners because they worked the office and housekeeping) were very nice. They even had free bananas when I checked in as well as a bag with a few snacks. I've never seen that in a motel. Bananas yes, a snack bag, no. It was also very quiet even though it's on a main street and it was bike week.
Negative: The lighting was a little bright but better bright than dim. The bedside and desk laps had very bright bulbs. But that's the only thing I didn't like.
Summary: Pleasantly surprised- nice room, quiet, clean, updated fixtures
