Positive: A typical Argentinean house, basic but with everything you need; keep in mind that you won't spend much time in your room in Salta!. The atmosphere is friendly and the hosts are very friendly, helpful and always available. The house is very close to the city center, near the main bus terminal and 25 minutes away from the railway station, the meeting point of the official tren de nubes excursion. Breakfast is in argentinian style , it is possible to ask for early breakfast (very useful, since tours in general starts at 7am). Salta is a wonderful region, with many places to visit. I recommend to stay at least 4 full days. I got a late checkout with a small extra charge.
Negative: It's a bit of a hassle to open the main door onto the street (but the host leaves there, so you can call him in case of need).
Summary: Wonderful atmosphere, excellent location

Positive: Great accommodation, close to the main sites. A lovely room with some nice antique furniture and a very comfy bed and pillows. Lovely breakfast!

Negative: The room in the back of the garden was a converted old garage with a shared bathroom. The bedroom floor wasn’t clean and I had to ask to be cleaned. No mirror or a trash bin in the room. The toilet flush wasn’t working properly. Had to remind the lady to clean the bathroom and also to provide a shower math. Payment was initially taken incorrectly which caused a bit of a confusion. I guess the price was fair for the standard of the room/shared bathroom but at least minimum room requirement is needed when renting a room! It didn’t bother me too much but I would not stay here again. Breakfast was very basic too!
Summary: Properly is in an excellent location but the garden room with the shared bathroom was a disappointment!

Positive: The host David was very helpful and welcoming and explained to us a little the history of the family house. A very interesting twist and opportunity to discover a beautiful 19th century house hidden away behind the street. At the same time very comfortable and with clean rooms and facilities. Highly recommended and again we would like to thank David for his kindness and welcoming. Note that he also organizes tours in the Argentinian jungle. The Salta área is huge, he definitely made us want to come back !
