The country house is surrounded by more than 23 hectares of open countryside: woods, meadows, olive groves, vineyards and cereal fields. Here you will find an ideal place for a peaceful holiday in a still very unspoilt natural environment. With around 11,000 inhabitants, Volterra offers a comprehensive infrastructure, supermarkets, specialised shops, boutiques, restaurants of all kinds and price ranges. Cities such as Florence, Lucca, Pisa, Siena and San Gimigniano are between 30 and 80 kilometres away and the Mediterranean is only 40 kilometres away. There are no fewer than 15 golf courses in Tuscany.
La Cisterna has a huge terrace with table and chairs right outside the front door, and the ceiling of the cistern in front of it can also be used as a terrace. A highlight is the large pool (14 x 7 m) with equipment and storage room and comfortable sun loungers and parasols and a spacious terrace with views of the wonderful countryside. The carport with 8 parking spaces has a large photovoltaic system on the roof, which contributes to our energy requirements. The garden and lawn areas around the house allow you to move freely and settle down with seating and loungers. La Cisterna takes its name from the old cistern in front of the flat, which can be used as a spacious terrace. The flat is on the ground floor, is 62 square metres in size and is suitable for up to 4 people. It is particularly popular with families with children or small travelling groups, e.g. two couples. Podere Cortilla is a farm with 23 hectares of land, including fields and woods, a vineyard and several olive groves. We make our own natural wine, mainly from San Giovese grapes, and produce a high quality olive oil, which our guests can taste and buy. At the appropriate times of year, we also have fruit and vegetables from our vegetable garden and from the fruit trees in the garden.
