THE PROPERTY
Le Roudier is a fantastically restored farm complex consisting of 5 properties, four of which are based around the large 14 x 7m shared pool and large terrace with panoramic views of the wonderful Dordogne countryside. The fifth a luxury house is just a few steps away, boasting its own swimming pool and jacuzzi. The 300 year old stone buildings have been sympathetically renovated to a very high standard yet they retain all of their original charm. All Gites are fully equipped and have satellite TV and DVD players as standard.
The buildings are surrounded by 16 acres of gardens which are an ideal and safe area for children to play and explore. The games room with TV screen and table tennis offers a cool retreat in the mid-day heat and being next to the pool it provides an excellent space for communal events. All properties have their own terrace which is furnished with patio furniture and BBQ.

LA GARENNE
Part of the original farmhouse and facing south, La Garenne benefits from a gated and fenced, shady terrace and large internal living area. The airy sitting room with plenty of sofas allows you to unwind out of the heat and enjoy the character of these 300 year old farm buildings. During the renovation of this gîte, a family of rabbits was found living under the floor which in turn lends itself to the name La Garenne, meaning warren.
The terrace leads directly onto the main pool area which has fantastic, panoramic views across the valley to the south side of the Le Roudier estate.

LOCATION
Deep in rural France, Le Roudier is set in one of the finest food and wine regions of the world. The vineyards and local cuisine are second to none and the historic chateaux and bastide towns allow visitors to truly immerse them selves in the rich character that this region offers.
Of course there are many other activities locally from canoeing on the Dordogne river to Horse riding, Golf, Mountain biking and a host more. The Dordogne valley, only 15 minutes from Le Roudier, has a wealth of interesting history dating back to Neolithic villages and wall paintings most which are open to the public.
For those of you who are looking for a more relaxing holiday, the country walks and local markets provide an excellent platform to soak up the atmosphere and sample some of the local produce.
From families with children to couples looking for a peaceful retreat this area can offer a wide range of holiday experiences from evening open air theatres to go carting and bowling.

Summary: Excellent stay in a lovely home. Very good concept of 3 beautifully renovated gîtes sharing a very pleasant pool. Teens loved it! Great location to fully appreciate the surrounding vineyards, the medieval bastide of Eymet and certainly the most British French countryside.

Summary: Lovely, tranquil location with excellcent facilites. Really enjoyable stay. The surrounding countryside is very beautiful with picturesque towns and villages. The accommodation is clean, comfortable and well equipped. The owners have thought of everything with some nice touches like a hammock under the shady terrace. The owners are very welcoming and informative about all the local markets and amenities which we really enjoyed visiting. Can't wait to visit again.

Summary: The hosts of the property were very polite and helpful with planning our holiday around the dordogne. Very picturesque surroundings across the property leading to some stunning sunsets and sunrises. The holiday had the perfect balance of things to do nearby in Eymet and in Bergerac as well as relaxing by the pool and walking the grounds. I would recommend the property to families who want a relaxing holiday as well as keen explorers of the dordogne region.

Summary: What a fantastic holiday we spent three weeks here and enjoyed every minute of it. The accommodation is very big plenty of space and well equipped. As a professional chef I was very pleased at the kitchen facilities offered big range two ovens and large American fridge freezer with ice dispenser. the views were wonderful and peaceful the pool very refreshing on a hot day but the jaccuzi on the terrace saw many a late night bottle of wine enjoyed inside till the early hours. Overall very friendly hosts who were accommodating and helpful nothing too much to ask, close to beautiful Eymet and only 25 mins from Airport will definately return if in this part again .

Summary: We had a fantastic week at La Garenne. The house was rustic, clean, spacious and comfortable, but we spent most of the week outside. The pool was a key part our week and our 6-year old daughter was in the water at least five times a day - with the shallow end shallow enough that she and her new friend could play together without us actually needing to be in the water with them. Perhaps our only concern when booking was that having several gites around a pool might not be very private, but this proved unfounded as each gite has its own private space. The immediate countryside is picturesque and there is plenty to explore in the surrounding area. Paul and Dearbhla were perfect hosts and couldn't do enough to make our stay more comfortable. A lovely place that we would definitely come back to.

Summary: Good sized accommodation although a little tired in areas. Excellent outside facilities and pool. Very friendly and approachable hosts with good knowledge of the local area.

Summary: The owners are very kind. The pool is great with a nice view over the meadows. The gite itself was not very clean with mole in the toilet. If the owners would take a little bit more time to clean the gites, everything would be great.

Summary: We've just returned from a smashing week, a perfect balance of things to do to keep everybody happy and a relaxing get away from it all site....even though the weather was mixed. Greeted by fields of sunflowers and vineyards, the Gite is pretty, clean, comfortable and lots of space and everything you would need. The owners live on site which is reassuring but by no means intrusive.Nicely set out for privacy or for mixing with other families. Pool a lovely size, and a nice big field which accommodated the football, rugby and cricket needs of 2 boys, and the owner even cut the grass to make things even better. Bicycles, Table tennis and Boules matches helped to fill the days. At first a little worried we were maybe too far from the big attractions of the Dordogne, we decided we had got it just right, The local medieval town of Eymet is so pretty and some nice reasonable restaurants... we were lucky to have coincided with a medieval festival. Bergerac a lovely market. 40 minutes in one direction St Emillion ( definitely argue about the driving... very beautiful and the free tasting we'd planned a few hours and ended up making a day of it.) and 40 minutes the other direction the caves and canoeing a must , picture postcard Dordogne, and the canoeing was much easier thanexpected, although we did get a taste of how much busier these areas can be. All in all a good choice and yes we would recommend.
