Positive: The location is stunning, with a view from the room overlooking both Le Morne mountain and the sea.
Negative: At first glance, the room looked pleasant and not outdated, but several details were disappointing – some things were broken, and the lights in the toilet and shower didn’t work. Around the kettle area, there were many small reddish ants. Our stay included breakfast and dinner. Breakfast was a good buffet with a decent variety. Dinner, however, was limited to a two-course menu with only two choices for each course. The food selection was poor and mostly not tasty. I was traveling with a child, and there were no child-friendly meal options. I appreciate that the staff kindly agreed to cook plain pasta for my child upon request, but of course, I did not pay for a package where my child could only eat pasta every evening. One morning, we had to leave early for an excursion and asked in advance for a takeaway breakfast. The receptionist noted our request and assured us it would be arranged. In the morning, there were no staff around and no breakfast prepared. This was extremely unpleasant and very disappointing, and the staff did not offer any kind of compensation for this oversight. The place itself is truly beautiful and cozy, but the price-to-quality ratio is completely unjustified. We stayed at several hotels in Mauritius this summer, and unfortunately, this one was the most disappointing experience.

The hotel’s territory is breathtaking—beautifully maintained, lush, and peaceful, creating the perfect tropical escape. The beach was cozy and intimate, with soft sand and a mesmerizing view of the clear, blue ocean. Waking up to such a paradise every day was truly a dream come true. Everything about our stay exceeded expectations, and we are beyond grateful for this unforgettable experience. A huge thank you to the entire team at La Mariposa for making our vacation so special! Positive: Perfect location right by the sea, with sunbeds and beanbags directly on the beach—an amazing spot to relax and enjoy the breathtaking sunsets. The hotel is just the right size—small enough to feel cozy and personal. There’s a supermarket, rent a car and some restaurants within walking distance, which is also very convenient. The staff is absolutely wonderful, from the owner and manager to the receptionists and waiters—everyone is welcoming and helpful. We had a fantastic stay and truly appreciate the warm hospitality. Highly recommended!

Positive: Super friendly staff, lovely little hotel right at the beach. Dolphin tour was faboulous and pick up was straight from the hotel beach. Breakfast was average but sitting in the shade of the big tree by the water made it all very lovely.

Positive: Perfect territory, restaurant under a huge tree on the beach, very nice place, enjoyed sunsets. The hotel is a garden actually, everything is blooming. The room was nice and cosy, modern. The bathroom unfortunately has scarce ventilation, a bit of wet smell, but not a huge problem. We booked an excursion (snorkeling with dolfins), goes right from the beach, it was fantastic, with bbq lunch, fish extremely tasty! Our best meal in Mauritius... Breakfasts in the hotel ok, but dinners not so tasty, though with sunset view. Enjoyed one evening with live music - spanish guitar :)
