Summary: Run down hotel, not in a great area. Valet only for $55 and reception wanted $25 to check in at 2:30pm as it wasn’t 3pm yet.

Summary: This hotel is OLD! The sink and toilet backed up! The facility is old and dilapidated. The entire facility is dirty and run down. There's no pride of appearance in the facility at the City's Capitol! The location is great, but nothing else. It's unsanitary and the A/C filters were clogged with dirt. It is not worth any money to stay there. For a Wyndham/La Quinta property this is a disgusting place. I wish we knew about this before booking.

Summary: We booked this place because it was significantly more affordable than other hotels in the area. You get what you pay for, which was ok for our purposes. The hotel is dated and grimy, but the room was acceptable. The shower had such strong water pressure that it was almost painful. No mini-fridge or microwave in our room. We had trouble with the key cards, which the staff warned us about, and we had to get new ones about halfway through our trip. The hotel is built like a maze, and the signage is weird, so we were always getting lost looking for our room. BUT, the staff was very friendly and helpful. And the location was great! Right next to the Capitol building, and within walking distance of UT Campus, the State History Museum, and "Dirty 6th Street," where there are lots of party bars and restaurants. We did take a lot of Ubers to get to get to other areas of town, like West 6th Street, which is a cleaner and nicer night out. Overall, I would stay here again, because I'm a cheapskate and I don't tend to spend a lot of time in the room when I'm traveling.

Summary: It was an OK stay. The service wasn’t exactly outstanding, but it wasn’t bad either. The hotel itself isn’t the best, but the room itself was quite clean and decent. It’s a 2, maybe 3 star at best hotel, so you get what you’d expect for what you pay. I will say, it is RIGHT next to the capitol, and 7 minutes away from the Moody Stadium, which is what my friend and I booked it for. It was extremely convenient for walking to things. For that reason I recommend it.

Summary: The beds were really good. The staff was very accommodating to my request for a quiet room - the room was very quiet. The bathroom could use a going-over - there was a constant dripping from the toilet and something needs to be done to combat the effects of moisture. The water did not heat up adequately.

Summary: The room was clean. The only bad smells I detected were in the parking garage in the morning. Perhaps there were overnight visitors? Staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was unspectacular but good. I'd recommend this place.

Summary: Staff was friendly and helpful. Hotel is what it is - an older building that is desperate for an update and, not just a coat of paint. However, it costs a third of the price of anywhere else in the area and its location is fantastic. Walking distance to downtown and UT. Neighborhood is mostly businesses so felt as safe as any downtown area even though there are of course homeless people nearby. Everything worked except the waffle maker - hot water, air conditioning, etc. Just know you’re signing up for a two star hotel not a five star one and appreciate the location for the cost.
