Positive: This property exceeded my expectations in every possible way. The location and view is gorgeous! It is very close to the Stromboli black sand beach. I could spend a day here just watching the blue waves. All the staff are amazing and very friendly. Breakfast was excellent as well. They take part in organising the Stromboli hiking tours as well. The guide was amazing and I thank him for his patience. Hiking Stromboli was very difficult for me and it would not have been possible without him. I stayed there only for a day but this experience will always stay with me. I wish every staff good luck and thank them for their exceptional services. This was the highlight of my three weeks trip to Italy :)
Negative: I liked absolutely everything! I wish I could stay there for another few days. After this, Taormina is falling short :)

Positive: Traditional Hotel, very nice staff, from reception to restaurant (good food). Abundant breakfast buffet. They also have a pool in case you want to take a break from going around. (Water was freezing)

Positive: We initially had an excellent check in with a really handy transfer service offered from the port by the hotel and at a really good price. Check in was excellent and the room itself was lovely, with a stunning sea view, private balcony with sun loungers, etc. We were initially very impressed. However things went downhill the next day when we went to breakfast. Not expecting the best breakfast for the money, but at least expecting it not to be infested with wasps, which it was since it was being served outside and items like pastries not covered. Was not very impressed with the staff response, as there was a language barrier with the staff serving the breakfast, and the reception were not very helpful, directing me to the staff who I had already pointed out could not speak sufficient English to communicate the issue, and ultimately telling us the wasps (densely covering all the pastries) were “nature”! As regards a solution, the staff came and took the pastries, covered them up with a glass dome, and put the same ones back out! I could see them doing this behind the screen to the side; they did not like being challenged when I said that this was not appropriate. We left without really eating anything as it was so off putting, however they did (begrudgingly) bring us out some fresh pastries for us to eat, but since the wasps had been drawn to the breakfast, they were annoying even when you went and sat down at a table to try and eat them. However, having been appalled at this experience and planning to write a rock-bottom review, they pulled it round the following morning with breakfast served inside, properly covered up, and it was really tasty and a far better experience than the previous morning. They were also excellent at arranging the transfer back to the port without being promoted to do so; they stopped us as we went for a walk after breakfast to ask about this. So overall a mixed experience, but room lovely and cleaned very well.

Summary: 3* hotel overall, mixed experience as per review but would probably stay again.
