Come and enjoy this cozy and peaceful cottage with amazing views from every room! This house sits on a private 132 feet beach with a large patio. Start your day with a cup of coffee on the porch. During the day, swim, fish or explore the lake in the provided kayaks or paddle boat. Enjoy a relaxing adult beverage while watching the shimmer of a gorgeous sunset over the lake. You will love family time around the fire pit at night. Come and unwind at this gem!
THE SPACE
This peaceful cottage is renovated from top to bottom located on Long Lake. The lake is a 289-acre all sports lake. It is known for fishing (Bass, Pike, Blue Gill, Perch, and Crappie), swimming, boating, kayaking, canoeing, sailing, waterskiing, or relaxing just to name a few.
This house has a private 132 feet beach with a large patio. Roast s’mores at the huge fire pit while enjoying the ambience of a Southwestern Michigan evening by the lake. Relax and sip your favorite adult beverage while enjoying breathtaking sunsets from under the gazebo. House has two docks right on the lake so please enjoy early morning fishing right on the dock or bring bring your boat for your stay.
Two kayaks and a paddle boat are provided for you to explore every inch of Long Lake during the summer months. Appropriate safety wear (i.e. life jackets) should be used when enjoying the watercraft. Children should be supervised at all times.
When you’re tired of fishing or swimming, lie in the hammock and read your favorite novel or play corn holes in the yard with the kids. There is also free wifi, Smart TV/ Roku equipped tvs to stream your favorite shows and many board games for everyone to enjoy.
While firewood is provided, we only provide a bundle for the indoor fireplace but you’re welcome to purchase more from local suppliers or bring in some wood from home.
Long Lake is located very close to the towns of Hastings and Delton, making grocery and supply runsconvenient for you. Hastings offers a charming downtown with shops, restaurants, a movie theatre, breweries and a number of events for all seasons. There are also several golf courses, parks, and local attractions such as the Gilmore Car Museum to check out. Kalamazoo and Grand Rapids are approximately 45 minutes away.
This cottage is a two level house. Two bedrooms and one full bath are located on the upper level with amazing lake views in every room. Living room and kitchen/dining area are located on the lower level. It sleeps 6 people comfortably. Kitchen has everything you need to cook and eat your favorite meals! Whether you're planning a romantic getaway, an adventurous weekend with friends, or a fun-filled family vacation you're sure to make memories that will last a lifetime at Long Lake Jewel. It is truly a rare gem!

Summary: Very impressive. The property was even better than the pictures online. The owner Leticia was in communication with us to make sure our stay was at the 5-Star level. You won't believe the view of the lake. We had our own little beach. We used the paddle boat which was fun. There is a patio area to sit and enjoy your coffee in the morning or cocktails in the evening. The gas grill was very clean when we used it. The whole house was decorated very tastefully. The house was very clean. Places to visit around there was the Gilmore Car Museum and the Kellogg manor. Its not far from the Gun Casino also. I would recommend this house for anyone. Leticia made our stay very enjoyable.

Summary: This property exceeded our expectations! We didn't want for anything. Leticia has prepared the cottage for anything you can think of and some you might not have thought of. The cottage was extremely clean and much larger than it appears in the photographs. All rooms have a lake view and the view from the picture window in the living area is amazing! The outside area has a large patio with a grill and a sandy waterfront. The firepit was amazing for making smores with the grandkids. We spent many hours on the 2 kayaks and paddleboat. The highlight of our experience were the turtles, especially the turtle we named Shelldon! He would swim between the 2 docks and poke his head out of the water to see if anyone was there. He would take food out of your hand! We would spend hours looking for his head to pop up. The turtles were an unexpected gem. We will definitely return and recommend this cottage to family and friends. Thanks again Leticia for being attentive and sharing your place with our family.

Summary: We are extremely happy with the property and cannot wait to go back next year! The house looks even better and bigger in person. It’s immaculately clean and very tastefully decorated. It is stocked with literally everything you might need, but it’s so well thought through that it’s not at all cluttered. Beds are so comfy I now really want to upgrade my own - I had no back or neck issues (which is usually the case for me). Now the outside is even better. It has a little private beach that my kids (ranging from 1 to 12) enjoyed swimming at - it gets a little mushy further in but they didn’t mind. It’s not too deep where I didn’t have to worry about the little ones. We also took the paddle boat and swam out a little further to reach the sand bar - where the older kids enjoyed swimming and diving for shells - but it’s still not too deep for them. There was a turtle that came to visit us every day - we had a blast watching it interact with bluegills and catfish from one of the two little piers. We took kayaks to swim out to the pretty lilly pad patch nearby. We made fire in the fire pit and enjoyed having dinner at the outside dining table. Leticia was very nice, responsive and hospitable. We even came to a welcome basket of various snacks on our first day, which was amazing since kids were starving after the roadtrip. This was one of the best rentals we’ve ever stayed at - highly recommend for either a family vacation or a quiet getaway!

Summary: My husband and I took a short getaway for our anniversary. This home was perfect. It is very clean and decorated so tastefully. The owner messaged us often to make sure ever was to our liking. Check in and out was a breeze. There were tons of kitchen gadgets and small appliances. It is fully stocked for any kitchen tools, pots/pans/bowls, baking needs, and dishes you may need. The coffee pot is both a pot and Kcup. There is a fireplace, although we didn’t use it. There are games and puzzles. There are two docks, paddle boat, two kayaks, hammock for two, grill and seating. The kids bedroom has a bunk bed and a full bed with plenty of room. It was fine for the two of us but there is only one bathroom. The only downside at all is that the stairway between upstairs and down was a bit narrow. Not much the owner could do about that but if you are a larger person you may struggle. Overall we would definitely stay again. We did decide because of the one bathroom probably wouldn’t bring the kids.

Summary: Just as good or better than the pictures! The host thought of literally everything! Bring your food and drinks and she has absolutely everything else you could need and then some. The view is unmatched from every room and we slept like a dream in the king bed. Only fished for a short time bc it was cold, still caught a bass & some bluegill. The indoor fireplace in the living room combined with that view more than made up for the fact it was too chilly to enjoy all the outdoor amenities this place has to offer. The water was so clear! Absolutely cannot wait to come back! A+++++ Highly recommend!

Summary: This was exactly what we were looking for! The home is incredibly well maintained and has EVERYTHING you could possibly need. I've stayed in many rentals over the years, and this one was by far the most well stocked (kitchen had all kinds of appliances, dishes, utensils, pots and pans...seriously anything you could possibly need). The home itself is beautiful, and though we weren't there when we could take advantage of the lake/outdoor amenities, we still loved waking up to see the water. Leticia was an incredible host. Communication was wonderful throughout the entire process. We will absolutely keep this on our list of places we'll happily return to!

Summary: We had a wonderful and peaceful weekend at the cottage. The house was fantastic; clean, tidy, and beautiful. The views were incredible; the best sunset view on the lake! It was peaceful and just what two tired parents needed for a short respite and weekend away. We'll definitely be back... maybe next time with kids. They would have loved the beach, the views, and the perfect kids room. All in all, fabulous cottage and worth every penny!

Summary: Once we got to the property, we didn’t leave for our entire stay! This lake house had everything we needed! We enjoyed the watching the fish right off the sea wall and docks. The kayaks are an easy way to get to the sand bar that is about 100 yards from the property! This is a great place to stay and enjoy some great Michigan lake life!
