Summary: Some things I love about this property: 1.) The back yard is and water around the dock is shaded. In summer, this is wonderful. I've been twice in August and almost never felt truly hot. 2.) The house is very spacious. There is a LOT of room in this house. A large group feels very comfortable here. 3.) The location is wonderful. You're not far from shopping. The house is on the water (and on the ice cream boat route), but it's in a little inlet off the main drag, so you're not getting buzzed by wake all the time. 4.) We brought our own kayaks, but the house also comes with a couple of kayaks. It's a perfect place for low key paddling. 5.) In general, the house is modern and fairly well kept. While it could use a couple minor updates, overall you have modern kitchens and bathrooms and updated décor. 6.) Comfortable beds 7.) Love the decks on the top floor A couple of complaints: 1.) The main floating dock, the crown jewel of the property, was not accessible during our stay. The floating dock is ideal for kayaking, boating, and swimming. If you're into those things, verify the dock has been repair or replaced before you come. 2.) There was no interim cleaning during our two week stay, nor basic cleaning supplies provided for cleaning the bathrooms. Otherwise, however, I have nothing but compliments for this wonderful location. Highly recommended.

Summary: House large and gorgeous from the outside. All beds comfortable. Inside adequately maintained. The owner appears to have abandoned the desire to maintain the outside including the deck, all steps going to the dock and the docks themselves.

Summary: We had a getaway for a few days to Smith Mountain Lake, with our two teenage kids who each brought a friend. This house was perfect. Conveniently located near the Bridgewater Marina where we rented boats and tubes, the house had a great dock and outdoor setup. We loved the hot tub and enjoyed the kayaks, the grill and the pool table. The house was spacious and comfortable, well appointed with plenty of room for everyone to spread out. The hospitality of the property service was impeccable and they made us feel very welcome and at home. We only wish we could have stayed longer. We had a wonderful time and can’t wait to come back again.

Summary: This was a beautiful house will a great view of one of the tributaries off Smith Mountain Lake. The only real note I would have for anyone wanting to rent this house is that the walk from the parking to the house and the walk from the house to the boat house and sitting areas has steep grades that made it very challenging for older folks to feel comfortable walking. In boating around the lake, this appears to be like many of the houses in area. Thank you for the stay - overall we had a great time!
