1 Bedroom Cottage in Tower

FOR THE HEALTH AND SAFETY OF OUR GUESTS AND CLEANING STAFF, STARTING WITH ALL RESERVATIONS MADE AFTER MARCH 25, 2020, WE ARE BLOCKING OFF A FULL DAY BETWEEN RENTALS IN ORDER TO VENTILATE THE CABIN AND SANITIZE SURFACES WITH CLOROX/LYSOL. WE APOLOGIZE FOR ANY INCONVENIENCE THIS MAY CAUSE. WE WANT ALL OF OUR GUESTS TO HAVE A HEALTHY, SAFE, AND FUN VACATION!
This 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom cabin is cozy and romantic. (We call it The Honeymoon Cabin!) Nestled in the North Woods, on the shore of Lake Vermilion, its pine interior is homey and warm, and French doors open onto a deck that looks out over the lake. The kitchen is compact, but fully outfitted with a refrigerator, oven/stove, microwave, toaster oven, and coffeemaker. NOTE: We no longer have a sleeper sofa in this cabin.
You'll want to spend most of your time on the lake, but for those of us who can't quite leave the rest of the world behind, there's cable tv and WiFi. (Please note that the ancient TV pictured has been replaced!)
The cabin itself has 1 bedroom with a queen bed. You can also access the charming bunkhouse on the shoreline, which sleeps 3. The bunkhouse has an enclosed chem toilet. There's also a cute outhouse up the hill. You'll also enjoy the sauna, which is shared with one other cabin.
The driveway of this cabin can accommodate one boat trailer. (Getting a trailer in and out requires some care, as the gravel road is not wide.) Boats can be put in the lake at Moccasin Point or at Grubens Marina, both of which are very nearby.
We do NOT have a fire pit, and do not allow outside fires. There is often a high risk of fire, as we are in the woods. We DO provide a charcoal grill for outdoor cooking.
There are loads of attractions and activities nearby-- the Vince Shute Bear Sanctuary, the International Wolf Center, Fortune Bay Casino, shopping in Ely, fishing guides, mailboat rides, hiking, tours of the Soudan Mine, and much more.
This cabin is on the same road as our other two rental cabins. The VRBO numbers for those cabins are 809128 and 671102. This cabin is next door to 671102 and one lot away from 809128. If you have a larger group and want to rent more than one cabin, we have special rates.
This cabin is SEASONAL ONLY. It is not available for rent after Sept. 30 or before May 1.

Summary: This is just what we needed to get away on a summer vacation!!! My kids totally enjoyed catching crawfish, jumping off the dock and using the sauna. We used the kayak plenty they even have a canoe. Will be back in the future.

Summary: Couldn’t be more pleased with the cabin. Parking is tight but it’s the Northwoods and to be expected. The cabin and bunkhouse are great. We had a major storm come through and property managers made sure to call us directly to make sure we knew about it and gave options where to go. Th ask for a great time. Bunkhouse right on the water was a huge hit.

Summary: We totally enjoyed our time at this lovely camp. It was comfortable, homey, and we enjoyed the Perseid shower from the dock. We were notified 3 days before arrival that we needed to provide our own sheets and blankets. Unfortunately we had been traveling for several weeks and had to purchase them. The listing said a double bed, turned out to be a queen. Happy it was a queen, but it meant another trip in our arrival evening to get the right size sheets. Also we couldn't use the watercraft because they were not licensed for 2021.

Summary: The property was just as described. This is a small quaint property that was perfect for 2 people. The kitchen is a little tight but did what we needed to to do. The light wood tongue and groove panels are light and give it a perfect cabin feeling. Everything was clean and well taken care of. If you have kids they may enjoy the bunkhouse right on the lake. I would agree with another review about the concern for the dock. It is a very short dock and relatively shallow and rocky. I had a 20ft boat and I had to have it extend out past the end of the dock in order to tie it up. If there was a strong East wind I would be very concerned about being able to secure properly. The caretakers next door were very friendly and easy to reach. We would definitely come back in the future.
