Positive: The VIEW! Plus it was spotlessly clean, and fitted with everything we needed as a family of five. Lina was super helpful, the ideal hostess. We would come back to this place at the drop of a hat.

Negative: Nothing. It was perfect for us.

Positive: The view was unbelievable, the apartment cleanliness was spot on, Lina was incredibly helpful too and always on hand to support. The location was perfect and after having visited Menaggio and Bellagio by ferry, we definitely chose the right location to stay. There were plenty places to eat, lots of pizza and pasta. Was surprised how early eateries close though, very quiet come 9pm and was tricky to find vegetables. It was nice that the apartment was away from the hustle and bustle up on the hill and felt secluded and peaceful. The apartment had everything we needed, it all seemed brand new e.g. pots, pans, plates etc bed linen was great quality. The balcony's were fabulous, we had one balcony for the bedroom and another large balcony for the lounge. Parking on site and plenty of space. Even the thunder storms were enjoyable thanks to the view!

Negative: We loved everything, just a couple of small things to suggest which would enhance things but it really was near perfection. A long mirror in one of the bedrooms would have been really useful rather than relying on the one in the bathroom. The beds were very hard so imagine after abit of time they will soften. Guests staying above and below were a little noisy at night but appreciate that's not something which can be controlled, no carpet and therefore sound travels. Be prepared to break a sweat if you choose to walk back up from Varenna, it's steep and cobbled. It's only about 20mins to walk down. We hired a car from Malpensa airport and the drive was actually easy, around 90 mins, once you get used to the winding roads. Just don't forget to pay the tolls on the app. I think Lina mentioned a shuttle was available too from Varenna but we didn't use it. This did not in any way put us off and will be returning!

Positive: The amazing views of the lake and surrounding hills, the layout of the apartment. Also the swimming pool, and the security of the apartment. The manager, Lisa was exceptional, and was always available to help immediately with any queries.

Negative: The only very minor thing that it lacked was a long mirror in the main bedroom or corridor of the premises.

Summary: A fabulous holiday. We hope to come back
