Summary: Once again my family and I have the most amazing week at the Sunset Cottage. We've stayed several times. The house is perfect, comfortable with all the amenities of home. We mostly enjoy time down by the lake, swimming and using the kayaks. The sunsets are just spectacular. Karen is the most gracious host. She even leaves us a hand written Welcome note with local syrup and jam. We feel like we're home! Highly recommend this property.

Summary: Sunset Cottage was a perfect place for our family vacation on Great Pond! The house was super clean and had everything we needed. The quiet cove was great for our boat and for swimming and fishing. Owners had great communication the whole time. Hoping we can return next year!!

Summary: We stayed at Carol and Karen's property in June 2022, and the location is absolutely perfect. My husband and I stayed with two of our adult children and their partners. The dock was ideal for our 20-foot boat. The fishing is great! We had smores around the fire pit, long, leisurely kayak and boat trips, and a lot of good conversation around the fire pit and while sitting on the screened-in porch. Wifi worked well for those of us who needed to work for part of the week. The house was clean and tidy and full of very cool antique furniture which is comfortable and interesting. While the weather wasn't ideal, there was plenty of books and games to occupy our time. The hosts are responsive and warm!

Summary: Our family enjoyed our time there - the house is rustic, but with modern kitchen and bath, and a large screened-in porch for meals (lobster one night!). We really liked the location in a quiet cove of the lake, where it is a bit more calm and manageable for the kids to swim and kayak, but it's easy to boat to the deeper, wider parts if you want. The kids spent lots of time at the float, and the loon family dropped by nearly every day.

Summary: Rustic Maine camp with updated kitchen and bathroom. Wonderful location on pristine Great Pond with a spacious secure dock that easily accommodated our boat rental, and Adirondack chairs to “chill” while taking in a spectacular view of the lake. Bedrooms easily accommodated our 7 person group, with very comfortable beds. Especially loved the oversized porch! The nearby town of Belegrade was a favorite for gift shopping, a delicious meal at “The Village Inn,” the Farmers Market, and the best blueberry pie I’ve ever eaten thanks to “Hello Good Pie.” Last but not least, the owners were both friendly and responsive in a timely manner.

Summary: Great cottage in a quiet area of the lake. Cottage was extremely clean and well cared for. Nice new bathroom and kitchen that comes well stocked. Enjoyed the dock, swim raft and use of the kayaks. The screened in porch is great bonus, where we spent a lot of time on warmer days. Definitely recommend renting a boat from Great Pond Marina and the dock was able to accommodate. Owners Karen and Carol were very prompt and when we had a septic issue it was resolved the same day. Highly recommend and would return!

Summary: My family has been vacationing on Maine lakes for the last 18yrs. This is the first year on Great Pond. This cottage has everything we needed and more. We rented a boat from the local Marina. The cottage is situated on the top of the lake in a nice quite section. We swam and fish daily. Fishing in the lake was awesome! the fish put up some good fights and broke some of our lines.. There was a great sand bar that my nephews were able to walk around and swim without there life jackets. The cottage was fully equipped with kitchen equipment. We spend every meal out on the screened in porch. The cottage was clean and very homey. It had character and charm. Karen and Carol were great with communicating when an issued arised. This place was so great that we booked again for next year!! Our new home away from home! Thanks again Karen and Carol for sharing your cottage with us!!

Summary: This is an idyllic Maine lakefront home - very well maintained and very well equipped. Our family enjoyed swimming to the raft, kayaking on the lake (with 4 provided kayaks!) and relaxing on the dock. We got great use out of the grill and the fire pit - S'mores! Eating on the screened-in porch every night was picturesque. And, great location - we were in reach of awesome hiking and mountain biking! My wife, two daughters (13 & 14) and I absolutely loved our vacation - 5 stars!!!
