This rustic lake home is all about location. Sited broadly on the east side of White Pond (43ac), perfect for the early riser who wants to see the sun peek over the mountain edge or those who want to silently glide across the water in our kayaks to watch the loons play. Tranquil beauty barely describes the location of this camp. From the moment you leave the pavement an overwhelming feeling of peace and relaxation is in the air. Water quality is the best possible – plant free and crystal clear. Perfect for swimming, kayaking, canoeing, and fishing. You will find a sandy beach with an even sandier swimming area next to the dock! The stargazing at night is spectacular, with absolutely no light pollution to get in your way. This cottage is unpretentious and low maintenance for the lake house renter who is looking for serenity with gorgeous views. Very private too!
Originally built in 1957 and remodeled in 1986. Indoor bathroom with toilet and sink, shower is outdoors. Fast and free WiFi. In the living room is a 32" TV with an Apple TV and DVD player connected to it, allowing you to access many streaming services and movies/shows. Our cottage is a quick 30 minute drive from Concord, where you can visit a lovely theater of arts center, dine at delicious restaurants, visit cute/fun gift shops, explore country fairs and markets and much more! Two day minimum rentals.

Summary: This once lovely cabin is on its last leg. The cabin was once the site of a girls camp and sits on a hill. Parking is above the cabin and if you have a member of your family who is unsteady on their feet, they will have great difficulty getting to the door from where the cars are parked. Having said that the entire cabin is no longer level. Even if you could get Gram and Gramps to the door it would be high risk for them to walk through it. This means that the cabin shakes when you walk through it. The deck that once connected to the house has separated and the deck flooring is uneven. The stairs are solid but the heavy rains have washed away the beach that is pictured in the photos. This means you need to be careful when you step off the last step. In place of the sand are rocks which you can step over but you need to watch where youre stepping. The cabin needs major infrastructure work, but is cozy inside. Its just not super comfy. It is as clean as it could be and the towels and sheets provided were clean. On the upside, it is a quiet and pristine spot. No loud parties just loons, blue heron and an occasional owl calling. It would be divine if the whole place was made level again and the beach could be restored. The property owner was very kind and communicative. Just to be clear the low rating was given because the cabin is not level and therefore the rate per night is not equal to other waterfront properties i have stayed at that were the same price.

Summary: This cottage is definitely rustic plus, but the lake is quite, clean and beautiful which is what it’s all about. There was also great fishing right off the dock I would definitely return to white pond.

Summary: We loved everything about our stay here. I went for a fall weekend with my 11-year old twins and pup. The cabin is privately situated right on the lake with a beautiful view from the master bedroom window. The beds were super comfortable. We loved just hanging around - played records, took canoe rides, walked down the lane, and soaked up the quiet. In the surrounding area, we hiked, shopped for antiques and ate yummy meals. To note, in case you're arriving in the dark like we did... The cabin is not very visible from the road in the dark. If you see an R signpost and red cabin on the right, you went one cabin too far. The parking/driveway is off the road, and the cabin is situated below.

Summary: We absolutely LOVED our stay at this rustic cabin. This property is ALL about location- on a quiet, beautiful lake, with clear water for swimming, chairs on the dock over the water for sitting and enjoying a book, and a great deck for eating meals overlooking the lake. This property IS rustic- we are people who love camping, so for us it was perfect. Think of it as an elevated camping experience- all the rustic, outdoorsy elements, but with the comforts of cozy beds, a kitchen and Wi-Fi.

Summary: This is a no frills kind of place, just as advertised. The water is not potable and you have to buy your own wood for outdoor fires. The pond is calm with no motorized boats and the lack of mosquitos was amazing. The beds were comfortable and the breeze off the pond at night is beautiful. It was a little more remote than we would of liked and the shower was quirky with very little water pressure

Summary: This cabin may not be for everyone, but it was perfect for my husband and I for a week of rest and renewal. Tranquil and clear, the pond was lovely for swimming and kayaking every day and we spent hours on the dock with our dog just marveling at the beauty of the place. The cabin is from simpler times but had everything we needed and was very comfortable and cozy with gorgeous views and thoughtful options for entertainment (great record collection!) should you happen to get stuck inside on a rainy day. Close enough to town for groceries and good restaurants but far enough so you never hear sounds other than those of the surrounding forest. We would love to go back!

Summary: The deferred maintenance has made the place dangerous. Access to front door and water is dangerous trip and fall hazard. Front screened door came off as soon as we opened it. Mice, hornets, ants. Ceiling light in living room - only one bulb worked. Bathroom light went out before end of visit. This is a biggy - the dock was broken and dangerous - jagged edge pipe, pipe in water. The floating dock was unusable as it was covered in goose poop. Shower mat created a serious tripping hazard where it was uneven and nail heads sticking up. Deck has rotten boards and nail heads sticking up. No gas grille. Widow pane fell out of bedroom window and shattered on floor. Broken chair on porch - still! House is dirty. The front room ceiling leaks like crazy in the rain! Rug is disgusting. Screen detached from door again this year. Sadly we will not be back. I suggest owner get the place fixed before someone gets hurt."

Summary: We just returned from a 1 week stay at this house. The pictures of the pond do not do it justice- it's absolutely gorgeous. The water is so clean, the view from the back porch and dock is just wonderful. Truly special. The location of this rental is excellent- you are far enough from things to enjoy peace and quiet, yet close enough to essentials that it isn't a drag to go out for groceries, gas, or a meal. The Shaw's supermarket is excellent and only 15 minutes away. We dined at several spots but really enjoyed Taco Beyondo and Mediterrano (Turkish food) the most. The Welcome packet/binder has lots of great info and ideas on what to do in the area. Unfortunately we looked it over late in our stay, otherwise we would have added a few more activities to our week. Lots of things to do in the area if you're up for it! The rental itself is rustic but completely functional. The kitchen has everything you need and the beds are fine. There will be bugs, etc, but that is to be expected. There are some things that can be improved, like perhaps upgrading some of the fans (we went during a heat wave and it was very, very hot). The outdoor shower is a charming novelty and we really enjoyed bathing with the sun overhead. Overall, we loved our stay. It was just what my family and I needed after being home for 18+ months being home due to covid. Our kids played in the pond every day, and my husband and I really enjoyed use of the kayaks. Our dog was in absolute heaven. We would definitely come back!

Summary: It was very rustic. Had not working shower, only outside shower which was not usable as it had hornets nest. My son Joe had to get rid of it. Also hornets nest in table on deck, I had to tape the holes as I saw 7 hornets go in. The house shook when you walked and floor very sloped. Had no microwave and no TV just dvds. I dont think I would have rented it if I had known about the shower. But the location was awesome, cabin charming if you looked past the bugs. Reminded me of camping when I was a kid.
