Great location directly on the waterfront of Lake Shehawken in Rural Pennsylvania. 60 acre spring fed lake adjoining two 400 acre farms. Nothing but tranquility surrounds.
Minutes from Hancock, NY.
Renovated four season lakefront cottage has all the amenities to make your vacation comfortable.
Gentle slope to private lake for summertime swimming, boating and fishing. Walk out the front door to hiking and biking. Near miles and miles of trails through state game lands. Minutes to the West Branch Delaware River for world class fly fishing, or drive a little further south to the Main Stem Delaware River for rafting and canoeing.
House has renovated kitchen, and two renovated bathrooms (1 double shower, 1 clawfoot bathtub) and rental comes with clean white linens and towels. House has three bedrooms that sleeps up to 6 adults plus 4 children (full bed in each of three bedrooms, plus bunk beds in two of the larger rooms).
Lake Shehawken is a spring fed lake that has modest homes and cottages that have been owned by families for generations. The few renters tend to be families that come back year after year. Fantastic place to enjoy the solitude and relax.
Located in the North East corner of Wayne County, PA, just minutes from Hancock, NY (convergence of East and West Branches of Delaware River). Approximately 3 hours door-to-door from NYC or Philadelphia.

Winter Wonderland with ice skating directly on lake (conditions permitting) and fantastic skiing nearby at Elk Mountain. Snow shoeing endless miles of gameland trails. Snow ball fights and sledding for the whole family. Short drive to Elk Mountain for great downhill skiing.

Summary: Spent a few days at the cabin with family for fishing and relaxing. Everything was just as described in the listing. Cabin was clean and well stocked. Eric was a pleasure to deal with. Aside from the walk down to the lake from the cabin, which can be a bit challenging for seniors, it is a great place to stay.

Summary: This cottage was exactly what we wanted. Enough space for the 4 of us, including a screened in side porch where we ate every meal. Down a small slope to the lake and dock, we enjoyed swimming, kayaking, fishing off the dock and just watching the reflections of the clouds on the lake. This is the place to come if you just want to relax. There's a small market down the road and places to eat 20-30 mins away. Great communication prior to arrival with the owner.

Summary: It had been a few years since we were at the Shehawken house. It was great to be back. My grandson had a plan to catch 30 fish and he caught 36. Lots of fun swimming, boating and being with family! We saw a bear on the way to Honsdale!

Summary: If you are looking for a peaceful get away, do yourself a favor and visit this quaint little cottage! The neighbors were friendly and so were the fish. We spent most of our time taking in the sun and swimming in the lake..a perfect place to rest, relax, and recharge. There were a few bobbles at the beginning of our stay, but as first timers using VRBO, Eric's fast responses as a host made us feel comfortable. Five stars well earned!

Summary: The lake views and sunrise are amazing. The area is remote and quiet and was exactly what we were hoping to find. We had planned on cooking all our meals and the Preston County Market 15 minutes away had most anything we had not packed. Hancock, NY, a 30 minute country ride away had antique shops and a lovely overlook of the DE River.The host has stocked the house inside and out with everything you could possibly need for a sunny or rainy day. Eric was very responsive when an unforeseen maintenance issue arose and handled it quickly and efficiently. The lake was beautiful and we hope to return!
