3 Bedroom Cottage in Harmony

We are offering a 50 percent discount for travelers who want to
book during the month of September, October, November for monthly
rentals only which would be 28 days or more. This discount only applies for
28 days or more and only for these three months.
The Private Waterfront area is 250' with a 35 foot dock. The Lake
tends to stay warm for a Maine Lake and drops off slowly. It is about
6 to 10 feet deep at the end of the dock. Plenty of Swimming and
Outdoor Activities are available. There is a boat landing at the bridge about 1 1/2 miles up from the camp if you have your own boat. Otherwise, a boat or canoe is provided for your enjoyment. New for Summer of 2019, new kayak, regular electric line (Solar will be there for backup only. No more monitoring electric meter). New Refrigerator. Camp is open from June 15th to October 30th every year. Smoking is not allowed; if you or your guests smoke inside, you will be billed for the damages.
Mainstream is not commercial and abounds with wildlife, including Moose, Deer, and Beavers, as well as a large variety of Birds.
We have added a two person kayak and a child kayak plus two rowboats and a canoe for the Summer of 2023. We already had a canoe and boat available. Also, we are extending our dock out 50 feet from shore for better swimming.
The Portland Press Herald has listed Mainstream Pond in Harmony and its associated river chain as one of the top 5 locations for kayaking and canoeing in the State of Maine. if you enjoy seeing bald eagles fly over and beaver building their lodges as well as plenty of recreational opportunities then Mainstream is a great place to get away
The fishing is excellent if you like Bass and Pickerel. We are only
minutes from the Harmony General Store which also has laundry facilities? Mainstream is part of the Sebasticook River Chain and has rapid falls below the Mainstream bridge.
* Please note we do not provide a Washer and Dryer at this location.
* There is a laundromat in the Town of of Harmony which is 10 minutes
* away. We have added a new dishwasher to this location and also are adding
* a new Heat pump for those who wish to come here during the late Fall months
* or early Spring starting in mid April.

Summary: very nice place out in woods, quiet.. all amenities except wifi would not connect even with password from router.. unable to connect until getting out to main road.. but really did not want to be online so no worries there.. can see this owner has gone out of his way to make this a nice place for people to stay.. obvious some little mice issues, but not a big deal.. saw no mice, but found some mice droppings .. was to be expected out in the woods.. need to bring lots of bug spray! could use some more butter knives and grill accessories.. other than these minor little things.. a great little getaway

Summary: The cabin was very nice and the lake was very pretty- we saw some gorgeous sunsets but the description was a little misleading. One of the main things we wanted to do was swim and it says swimming on the description and there is a picture of someone jumping off the dock and we even asked about swimming. However, it is NOT good swimming. It is choked with weeds and algae and very mucky. Even with water shoes, sunk up to my calf. Even at the end of the dock it was very weedy. You could jump off the dock although it is chest height but there is no ladder to climb back up so you have to wade through the muck to get back. Very unpleasant and disappointing. The dock itself was nice to sit on but very wobbly. You cannot see the lake from the cabin. The path to the lake and fire pit is beautiful but very rocky and slippery when wet. A challenge to carry food back and forth to the cabin. Overall it was more rustic than we expected. We had a good time but would not stay here again.

Summary: The property is literally in the middle of nowhere, which is what we were looking for. It was extremely spacious, relaxing and peaceful. (Bring lots of bug spray!) We caught lots of fish, which made our boys very happy. The cabin is 2 hours from Portland, Bar Harbor, Acadia National Park and an hour from Bangor so we were able to do lots of sightseeing, a whale watch, and attend the State Fair! Maine has so much to offer! It was an unforgettable vacation. Thank you!

Summary: We had a wonderful stay at this property on Mainstream Pond. We really felt as if we were away from everything but still had good access to wifi to stay as connected as we needed. The pond was wonderful for canoeing and swimming off the dock. The house was comfortable and gave us a great chance to spend some time as a family. Thanks!

Summary: We had a wonderful time at the property. Very secluded, quiet, and a very short walk to the lake. WiFi worked fine as did the tv, which made the kids happy. Owner was very prompt and responsive when we had questions about things (such as where to find moose!). We’d love to return again and very much enjoyed our stay.
