WE ARE OPEN FOR YOUR RESERVATION! Enjoy “Old Florida” among sprawling live oak trees, smell the flowers and listen to the birds and animals while you stroll the 300 foot wooden walkway lined with banana trees and tropical plants on your way to the lake. This log home has a screened in, solar water heated pool and is a vacation onto itself. .
Consider the properties central location from: Atlantic Coast - 1 hour, Gulf Coast - 1 1/2 hours, Disney - 2 hours and the University of Florida - less than 30 minutes. Within 20 miles there are 10 lakes, rivers, streams, crystal clear springs for fishing, canoeing, kayaking and swimming. Just a short drive away is Paynes Prairie Preserve State Park which includes over 21,000 acres for wildlife viewing as is the Gainesville-Hawthorne State Trail which stretches 16 miles from Hawthorne through local and conservation state lands to Gainesville’s Boulware Springs Park. The recreational trail is designed for walking, cycling and horseback riding. It is located at 7902 SE 200th Drive, off of CR 2082 west of Hawthorne and 2182 SE 71st Avenue.
Lake Jeffords is a private lake and because the lake is private, it stays quiet and doesn't feel crowded. Anglers will find plenty of fish in the lake including black crappie, largemouth bass, and bluegill.

Summary: Cabin By The Lake is a great little retreat away from the crowds. This is the place you want to go for a quiet, peaceful, secluded tranquil vacation in a charming, updated cabin. Owner Sharon and property manager Rob were always a text away if you needed anything. The pool was where we spent most of the time. Clean and warm the whole 2 weeks we were there. Then there's the 200 foot secluded boardwalk to the lake with a Gazebo and kayaks to use. I didn't catch any fish mainly because I don't know how to freshwater fish. I know salt water. Lol. If you're looking for a nice quiet Vaca and have family to visit if you want, it would be a perfect opportunity to use the cabin. And not to mention that they furnished a lot of towels , and in the kitchen there's everything you need... most of the spices, coffee, sugar, Etc. It's well stocked more than I've ever seen on another stay anywhere. Thanks again Sharon and Rob, we will be booking again for next summer. 😊

Summary: We had a great time. The cabin was very comfortable and cozy. Well furnished. The pool was great. Good location. Perfect for what we needed. Only 2 points of disappointment. The internet was slow. Not working in bad weather. Probably could not be helped. The upstairs beds need a better frame. The one they are on has a ridge down the middle. Not very comfortable One more suggestion a bigger umbrella would provide better shade poolside on sunny days.

Summary: We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The property was perfect to spend quality time with the family. While it does have access to television, we found the board games, swimming, fishing, kayaking and rec room activities filled up all of our time, so no screen time was needed. The hosts were very responsive and really nice too.

Summary: We had a lovely stay at the lakefront log home for my son’s UF graduation. The log home was a terrific place to hang out, visit, and celebrate. We really enjoyed the pool, the lake & kayaks, and the game house with foosball and ping pong. We did some grilling and cooking in the ample kitchen. It was very comfortable for eight adults. Sharon was a wonderful hostess, even treating us to a bottle of champagne to celebrate the graduation. Overall much better than paying for several hotel rooms for the special event. It would be perfect for a UF football weekend. Thanks very much!

Summary: Everything was perfect!!!! There have been updates since the pics were posted online. The pool is amazing but nothing compares to that walk out to the beautiful dock. Best week ever and property owner thinks of everything!!!!
