Summary: The owner seems nice and is communicative. The property is in a good location and really does have a lot of potential to be a great VRBO spot. However, there was some significant concerns. One being cleanliness. Which is a very big deal all the time, but especially right now given COVID. The towels were not clean, the basement shower had a used razor and hair in it, sink smelled, fridge and oven were not clean either. Along with cleanliness is a gross misrepresentation of the property. The pictures you see are are staged from a real estate listing. the furniture and decorations are different. The linens on the beds are not of the same quality at all they are thin and extremely uncomfortable and low quality, the showers don't have curtains, only a plastic sheet, or in the master's case blinds.... the hot tub is not accessible and the laundry was not accessible. The garage opener was there but the garage is filled with junk, and parking if you have 10 people is almost impossible. We tried to make pizzas in the oven and the oven would only get warm, not hot. For example, a frozen pizza on 500 after over 40 minutes was still dough. I reported this to the owner and he seemed very surprised that it didn't work. However there is another review on this page from a few weeks ago that says the same thing and he commented on it, so I feel like the surprise reaction is a little fabricated. He offered at 7:30 on Saturday night to come fix the oven, which wouldn't be possible, but honestly I don't want to deal with it and we didn't need the oven anymore a that point. He also suggested to cook on self clean which is never a good idea. The oven is old and has done it's time and needs to be replaced, that is obvious. But the offer was appreciated. Overall, if the property was $1,000 less for the weekend I would have maybe been ok with it. That would have been what it was worth for the quality of the beds, linens, some lights not working, cleanliness, and quality of the appliances. But the oven not working, and knowing about it, is unacceptable to me. Some things also to notice that are difficult with the winter pictures - the trek to get to the lake is wooded and a rough walk, would be difficult with children or elderly. The neighbors on the shoreline are extremely close but seemed very nice. However if you are having a large group and want privacy on the water, this is not where you will find it. The house itself with the decks does offer a lot of privacy.

Summary: Wow - DISAPPOINTMENT from the moment we pulled up. The house exterior was in poor condition & the yard was overgrown. The A/C wasn't on when we arrived on a 95 degree day; the inside of house had very odd & unpleasant odor. The toilet in the lower level didn't work correctly, needing to be plunged regularly; the kitchen floor was dirty, counters were sticky in places. The kitchen wasn't stocked well enough to prepare simple meals, let alone food for 8 adults. The bottom element of electric oven didn't work so we couldn't use to prepare meals. There were limited cooking utensils, etc. There was limited seating in living room so we pulled in patio & dining chairs. The bed linens were low quality (worse than economy hotels); bathroom towels were stained & minimal; we found only 1-2 wash clothes in entire house; there was 1 dish towel in kitchen & 2 smelly sponges/scratch pads. The outside was an overgrown jungle. The stairs leading to the lake were in total disrepair & dangerous. The railing around all decks were dangerous because wide spaces between spindles - kids could fall through - we had to be very careful w/small kids who visited. Path to lake was strewn with fallen tree branches & overgrown with weeds. The lake shore / dock were nothing as described. The plywood sheeting on dock was warped & weak - we didn't feel comfortable being on it. The lakeshore was covered with decaying leaves, lake weeds, nettles/itch weed, low hanging tree branches - alive & dead ones. So we tried to make the best of our stay by doing the following: 1. swept all hard floors - used disinfectant wipes that we brought to wipe down all kitchen surfaces/dining & kitchen tables; door handles; and bathrooms; 2, dusted ledges in lower level bedrooms to remove visible dead bugs & cobwebs . 3. Located, opened & CLEANED all air ducts to get as much a/c coming through as possible. 4. Repaired a toilet so we could use it. 5. Cleared path to lake of all branches/logs, nettles/itch weed. Good thing-lake water was clean! 6. Raked & cleared part of lakeshore so we could use it. Tried to clear both sides of beach but one side had too much decaying vegetation & was really soupy. In frank summary .... yes, there's a lot of floor space, but that's about it. Most of what was represented in the listing is NOT accurate. I wouldn't stay here again & won't recommend to others. This review is not made by a relative and/or friend of the owner.

Summary: This place looks spicy but hits like ketchup. The potential is there, and could use some upgrades and a deep clean. It did the job, but the taste buds weren't craving more.

Summary: Master bedroom’s bathroom was clogged. Cabinet where the trash bags were kept broke due to the flimsyness. No actual lake view but once tall the home was gorgeous with lots of space.
