Summary: Pros: The place was clean, secure entry, decent/artsy location, a short Uber ride to US Bank Stadium, parking adjacent to the building, very little noise coming from other rooms. Cons: Lighting fixtures were missing bulbs, track lighting above the lower level sink had no on switch that we could find, water pressure was non-existent, couch was extremely low sitting (I'm 4'9"), game room is in the closet off the lower bedroom with a miniture-sized combo pool/air hockey/ foosball table. Rather funny. Overall, non of the cons really matter because of the pros. Just don't go in expecting fantastic. Go in knowing you are there probably spending little time in the room.

Summary: Starting with the good. It is very close to several bars and shops. Communication with the manager was efficient. Kitchen was clean and was provided 2 bottled flavored waters and some chips upon arrival. TV and internet worked. Parking was easy to get in and out. The garden area was nice where the grills were. Everyone seemed really friendly. We didn’t feel unsafe. Now for the bad. As soon as you walk into the apartment complex, the whole place smells of urine and the carpet is black instead of the original red. Once in the apartment, it smelled very strongly of cigarette smoke. I’m not sure if the neighbors underneath smoke or what, but the windows were open upon arrival so the smell wouldn’t be so bad. I did mention this to the owner right away. They just ensured me it was smoke free and I wouldn’t be charged. The game room is literally a small walk in closet in the bedroom with very little in it. There’s definitely no room for people to sit and it smelled the most like smoke. After searching we finally found the towels wet in the dryer. We had to dry them. Lamps didn’t have shades, comforters had white stains/were dirty. The other bedroom upstairs is basically a loft and not really a bedroom. There were homeless people sleeping right outside the apartment complex front doors every night. The balcony is tiny and has just enough room to maybe fit both feet to shut the door. It’s more like a walkout window. There wasn’t much in the kitchen and wasn’t stocked with anything.

Summary: We booked this due to its location and the fact that it had bunk beds for the kids + two bathrooms. Lots of restaurants nearby, 2 grocery stores, and an easy half mile from the Minneapolis lakes. Underground garage parking spot was also a huge plus as street parking is not ideal in this area. Host was extremely good at communicating promptly and helped us with all of our needs -- even delivered a cutting board when we discovered there was not one in the unit. Unit was overall very clean when we arrived but a few things were missed like smudges on walls, a few containers of open food left in the kitchen area. Most parts of the listing were correct, but I would say several things were very exaggerated. It is a penthouse only because it is on the top floor of the apartment unit -- it is not the whole top floor as "penthouse" implies. The "balcony" that they claim is perfect for dining al fresco is in fact just a narrow strip of grating that you can stand on to look down on the street below and across to the next apartment building - no views, no seating out there. The "game room" is in fact just a large closet with some games in it. The main room has a large sofa + three tall chairs that go around the kitchen island, so technically "seating for 6" would be correct but you will not all be around one table. Overall these things didn't greatly impact our stay because we had enough beds and space as listed. Just improve listing and cleaning details and it could be 5 stars!
