One story mountaintop bungalow sits on two acres and is perfect for a family vacation, girl's retreat or home base when attending a Lodge or Burritt wedding. Those interested in Huntsville's space history will find this house and the story it tells fascinating. With the wonder of nature right outside your back door, you are able to walk or ride a bike to the state park with its beautiful hiking trails and you are still only minutes away from the Medical District, 5 Points and the Space and Rocket Center. If you head west you are only 5 miles from the Robert Trent Jones golf course and Hampton Cove. This fully furnished home has a king bed in the master bedroom with a huge walk in closet (which has a youth bed in it), a queen bed in the second bedroom, and two twins or a king in the library. There are also two foldaway beds, 3 camp cots and a baby bed if needed. The house has two full bathrooms; one with a tub shower, and the other with a walk in shower. There are two steps down (with handicap handrail) from the living room to the bedrooms. There is plenty of closet space, a full sized washer and dryer, iron and ironing board, cookware, dishes and utensils, a dining table that will seat 10, a well stocked library and a gorgeous fireplace to sit and enjoy yourself for as long as you like. TV, high speed wireless internet, outdoor fire pit grill, screened porch, pool table, and many more amenities are provided. This lovely home is filled with beautiful antiques, oriental carpets and all the extras to make you feel right at home. The hosts live next door and can help with any particular needs you might have. No pets allowed, but we have 2 dogs you can borrow if you need a hug!

Summary: When you plan your vacation, it is important to make your living place add to your adventure. If your plans are to come visit Huntsville for the U.S. Space and Rocket Museum, then this is that place you want to stay. This charming place was rich with character and a story to add to your museum visit. We liked that we were away from down town but close enough to enjoy it. They are up on the foothills near a State Park that is worth adding to your visit. We came here with 4 kids ages 9 and under, and they talked about this place for days after. The kitchen is well stock with all you need for creating meals in. A pool table and trampoline to keep kids entertained. A must stay, and when we plan to make our trip back for Space Camp, I know where we will be staying!

Summary: We loved our stay. The house is a “real” home with lots of personal items and history. It made us feel right at home. The kitchen is well stocked for those who enjoy cooking, and the kids loved the pool table and trampoline. Sunrises are beautiful in the master bedroom. We also really enjoyed meeting Lisa and Fred and their two dogs.

Summary: Fun, warm and welcoming home with all the amenities for a family stay! We have enjoyed getting to know the family as much as we’ve enjoyed hosting our own family members. It has become our home away from home! Now that there’s a pool table, we never wanted to leave. We’ve hosted Thanksgiving dinner twice over the past few years and it gets better each time we visit!

Summary: We stayed while visiting our son who is attending UAH. The house was very clean, spacious and had everything we needed. We were able to cook a big dinner for friends and had all of the bakeware, dishes, utensils, and everything else we could have asked for. The owners live next door and were very friendly and responsive to any questions that we had. I would definitely recommend it and will stay here again.

Summary: Several things stand out about this home if you are looking for an interesting place to stay in Huntsville. First, it sits on top of a mountain so it's cooler than the valley. Second, it is furnished with books, pictures and memorabilia instead of being minimalist. Furnishings are not new; they are mid-century style with some beautifully carved pieces. Great screened-in back porch with regular visits from deer. Charming hostess. Our family loved their stay!

Summary: This home was exactly as pictured, very comfortable and the location was perfect with a great winter view of Huntsville at night. It is within walking distance (less than a mile) to Monte Sano State Park. We enjoyed sharing the NASA history displayed with our grandchildren. The hosts were responsive and Lisa was very gracious; we didn’t get to meet Fred. This is a comfortable home, well suited for a family vacation.
