Positive: The owners of this gorgeous Victorian have created a truly exceptional environment for their guests. My daughter and I stayed only for one night, but we wish we could have stayed longer. From the moment we arrived, we were struck by the warm welcome, the charm of the home, and the attention to every detail. The room was superb — comfortable, tastefully decorated, and immaculately clean. The private bath was spotless, well-stocked, and felt like a boutique hotel experience. This B&B is located on a stunningly beautiful street lined with historic homes and mature trees — it’s the kind of neighborhood that invites you to slow down and soak in the surroundings. Everything from the living room to the back deck to the garden felt lovingly cared for. The house is within easy walking distance to downtown and we appreciated the owners' recommendations of local places for breakfast and dinner (River Rock Coffee and NolaBelle Kitchen were both excellent.) In a word, we left refreshed and grateful for our stay. I can't recommend this place highly enough — it's a perfect blend of elegance, comfort, and genuine hospitality.

Positive: I had a wonderful stay at Laven House. It’s located in a quiet, peaceful neighborhood – perfect for a relaxing getaway. It was close to walk to downtown restaurants. The owners have done an incredible job preserving the charm and character of this historic home while keeping it comfortable and welcoming. The space was very clean, thoughtfully maintained, and had everything I needed for a comfortable stay. The owners were also extremely responsive and easy to communicate with, which made the entire experience even better. Would absolutely recommend to anyone visiting the Mankato area!

Positive: The house was really nice. It was very close to our first event, so that was a plus. I love old historic houses and the stories that go with them. The bed was so comfortable I wonder what brand the mattress was.
Negative: It was rather cold downstairs in the morning compared to what I am used to. But our primary complaint was the breakfast or lack thereof. When advertised as a bed and breakfast, I would expect something fresh. We didn't expect a full breakfast, but at least pastries and fruit or juice, especially after having read a review that said breakfast "magically" appeared in the morning. But our only choices were instant oatmeal and a packaged fig bar. I was hoping for a nice leisurely morning in this pretty house but instead we ended up going to a restaurant to eat our breakfast.
