Positive: Lovely cottage and close to local shops. We booked for our visit to the Hay on Wye festival but found it was still a way out from it.

Negative: I had advised the owner that I would be bringing my dog along and that he was 13 years old. She did not mention the double set of steps in the garden which he found difficult to climb. No grass in the garden either.

Positive: The property was cosy and nicely decorated.

Negative: Nothing wrong with the property, although the bathroom needs an upgrade. However, our stay was spoiled by the poor communication with the host, who had forgotten we were coming. As a result, when we eventually got in (45 minutes later) the house was freezing cold. On a windy rainy day after long hiking this was the last thing we needed. The host apologised and tried to find a way to make up for this mistake. Unfortunately we couldn’t take her up on her offers and felt this spoilt our stay.
