This inviting cottage is located halfway between Old Man’s Cave and Ash Cave down a peaceful country road in Hocking Hills.
As you enter from the covered front porch you’ll get an immediate feeling of warmth and comfort. The sunny country kitchen has everything you’ll need to fix a country meal. The large dining room has seating for six. From the dining area, you enter the expansive living area that features ceramic flooring & a gas fireplace. French doors then lead onto the screened-in porch that overlooks the yard and wooded area and leads to the private hot tub area that also includes a gas grill. Shadow Wood Cottage sleeps 6 guests and features two bedrooms with queen beds, and a sleeper sofa in the living area. Summary: Loved our stay here, the home is a remodeled cabin-style house in the woods that has a beautiful yard with a fire pit and gated hot tub, a spacious kitchen, a nice dining room, and a great living room with a warm fireplace. Small issues (that would not prevent us from returning) are very squeaky beds (mattresses are comfortable!), not enough blankets or pillows provided, doors to bedroom and bathroom did not close properly, and very noisy HVAC system. Overall, a great property for a fair nightly price - I just want to make others aware of everything before they rent. Highly recommended!

Summary: We loved our experience at Shadow Wood Cottage! Booking and check-in were very easy and the directions were well-detailed and simple to follow. The cabin was very clean, well maintained, and well supplied. The location was perfect! Very close to all of the trails/attraction sites yet still secluded enough to be peaceful. Highly recommend and would stay again.

Summary: Our family had a nice stay at Shadow Wood Cottage. The location is great with lots of scenic hikes available within a drive of 15 minutes or less. After our hikes we enjoyed relaxing in the hot tub and playing games around the dining room table. The hosts were helpful and quick to answer any questions we had.

Summary: Found toothbrush and personal item of clothing under couch cushions(not ours) Also while sitting on settee area of sectional noticed there was smoke coming from cushion. After investigating, we discovered a vape pen (also not ours)that was extremely hot & smoking that left us wondering what may have happened if we had not found it. However, we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves & thank you for the nice accomodations in a beautiful area.
