Positive: The flat was spacious. Having a dishwasher and washing machine was great. The location in central St Marcellin is very handy. Had the items noted below been working, then I would have given it a much higher score.

Negative: There were a number of items not working - the majority of which I noted had been raised in comments by previous guests: The wifi and TV were not working - the neighbour who let us in kindly gave us access to her wifi, but she shouldn't have to. The bedside lights were not working. One of the air conditioning units was not working correctly and dripped continuously. It was also noisy so disrupted sleep. Towels were inadequate. Luckily we had also brought our own. Better cutlery, particularly knives would be helpful. There was a bare lightbulb in the sitting room and wiring was visible for both lights. The entrance does not give a good first impression.

Positive: the neighbour in charge of the keys waited and met us at the door: this was great, merci beaucoup madame! close to many boulangeries. wifi worked very well. double bed was comfortable enough. electric cooktop, stove, dishwasher, washing machine, fridge all worked well. coffee pods were nice.

Negative: the stale cigarette smell persisted both days of our stay despite us opening all the windows. narrow and unrenovated apartment with low ceilings, broken blinds and shower door handle, uneven floors. one tiny table barely room for 2 people, one person couch. unusable upstairs loft bedroom due to unpleasant odour despite us opening the window which was in the ceiling. one towel per person was slightly greasy to touch. slightly sticky floor. very narrow staircase - tricky to bring a suitcase up. i guess for the cheap price it was ok, tho we would have paid more for a more comfortable place to stay had we known (we couldn’t tell from the info on booking.com)
