Positive: Based on the reviews I saw I was so looking forward to spend a night here. It was an overnight stay on our travels, I loved that it was close to highway but far enough to not hear it. It is distant from the villages, around are forests and beautiful nature and the set of buildings belonging to the manor looks amazing! I loved how I was welcomed and instructed for self-check in, Violaine called me and explained everything and sent SMS with all codes and necessary info we needed. Plus, she offered us pre-prepared 3 course dinner to be heated in the shared kitchen in microwave. I do not spend so much time in B&B so this concept of prepared dinner just amazed me! Self care with care. I liked shared kitchen, how it was equiped. For breakfast, it was simple but good quality ingredients you can pick from. I am a tea fan so really good quality tea impressed me a lot. It was quiet there all night, the manor was full of guests. I liked large parking lot, too. In our room, we had large shower, no issues with water leakage or warm water, bathroom was clean and modern. The room and bathroom had enough well functional heatings.
Negative: As much as I appreciate the overall concept of how the manor is run, I have to point out some things which spoiled the stay for me. I hope the owners can fix them and maybe, they are not that relevant for everybody. The most important downside was the smell in our room - it looked like it came from the bathroom and down from the septic. We did not smell it in the shared spaces, just when we opened the door to our room, we received smell punch which we could not get rid of by letting a lot of fresh air in. The chairs in the room were not stable, we missed curtains for privacy, floors and stairs were squeaky and kind of "too old to keep". Not enough space to hang cloths. The bed was a bit small for 2 of us and wobbly. The dining space had tables and chairs but to my liking, the tables were too small and some of them wobbly, it did not feel cozy in the dining space. The dinner quality was not good. First of all, the size of the dinner was too small, we came hungry, we were looking forward to enjoy the meal. The potatoes were heavily overseasoned and the meat itself had more fat than meat on it. Despite the great concept, this was a disappointment for us. The manor was full of guests so when all of them came down to heat the meal or make a coffey or tea, queue was created. I guess adding one more microwave would be useful.
Summary: Great concept, beautiful manor but for us, bad quality dinner and smell in room spoiled our stay.
