Positive: It’s a lovely place but I wouldn’t describe it as a 5-star resort. Upon arrival we were told that the spa had no availability for the duration of our stay, and when we enquired about the hot pools, we were told that they were closed following the pandemic and hadn’t been re-opened again, which isn’t mentioned in the description. When we got to our room, our coffee machine leaked hot water all over the counter-top and floor when we tried to use it - I would like to note that this was changed for a new one that evening. We had to return glasses to the bar and plates and bowls to the breakfast counter because they were dirty and there were (what looked like) dead bird feathers stuck to our balcony door. The bedroom and bathroom were clean. The bed was very comfortable and the room was spacious, the bathroom was a decent size and the balcony was a really nice addition - it’s so peaceful, you can hear the birds. There was ample amounts of shampoo, body wash and conditioner, as well as a number of towels. The food was okay and we liked that the booking included a 5-course tasting menu as well as breakfast the next day, although we were disappointed that there were no alternative options for coffee other than the coffee machine. The location was great, it was only a short distance from the glacier, as well as a supermarket and petrol station. In conclusion - I wouldn’t be adverse to staying here again, however I did not feel as though it was worth the money, nor would I say that it’s a 5-star resort.

Positive: The location is amazing! The spa is sensational!!! Truly do prebook a massage as it was incredible! The staff are helpful and nice to deal with. Some of the junior members require more training as they weren’t aware of processes etc
Negative: This isn’t a five star hotel. It tries to be but it is dated and the food in the restaurant is really bad - well presented but the salmon was overcooked, the cheese wasn’t great quality and I’ve never seen my husband pull a face at pate but… ! It also isn’t made clear that you can eat at The Landing, King Tiger or Snake Bite. It was only when I asked if we could switch to room only rate that it was offered. The hotel needs a spruce up internally.
