Summary: This is one of the most wonderful places we have stayed. The whole experience will stay with me forever. The house and site was so calm and beautifully renovated with great care and taste. The surrounding countryside is a delight to drive through with pretty towns nearby. It was so nice to talk to the owners who helped us with local places and information. It was good too to have UK TV channels to watch whilst relaxing in our lovely cottage. Top marks to Shelley & Talfryn and hope to return again one day. Best regards, J & G (Preston, Lancashire)

Summary: We had such a wonderful stay at La Cannonerie, Shelley & Talfryn are so welcoming and helpful. When we arrived we were awestruck by how beautiful the building was, our apartment was very clean and well presented and the kitchen facilities were extremely well equipped for rental accommodation. We bought our 20 month old son on holiday and Shelley was more than accommodating providing a cot and highchair. The pool is gorgeous with rolling country side views all around. There is also a table tennis table and small play area for the kids with swing and slide etc which was really fun. We rented a car which was great as there is loads to see and do in the local villages and towns and it made life much easier for getting to supermarkets etc. I would highly recommend staying at the Cannonerie, we hope to go back next year!

Summary: What an amazing location. Fantastically placed amongst vineyards and meadows yet only a few minutes drive from wonderful restaurants and markets. The gite was tremendous with a wealth of beams, stone walls and original features along with all the modern bits we need for life today. Wifi signal was really good. The grounds and the pool were very well kept and was a great place to relax and we felt very reassured by the location and the large courtyard that the children 6y and 2y old were safe and always within sight. The owners were very warm,friendly and welcoming and were very good at suggesting places to visit for days. We hope to visit again soon. Many thanks.

Summary: We had a fabulous time at La Cannonerie to celebrate a friend's 40 birthday. The layout of accommodation worked incredibly well for us as we were three families with 7 kids in total. Each family had a really spacious self-contained gite facing onto the huge open walled courtyard - this was great for both the children during the day and adults in the evening. What struck us the most was the sheer beauty and tranquility of the location. La Cannonerie is perfectly set up for family holidays and we intend to return next year for another 40th!

Summary: I have to admit that I have been to La Cannonerie before, and I will be back again. Fantastic accommodation and Talf & Shelley could not be better hosts. There is so much to do in this fantastic part of Cognac producing France, or just sit by the pool and relax.

Summary: We spent a glorious week in No 3 and it was just perfect. It's as nice as it looks on the website.The weather was fantastic and we spent alot of time relaxing by the pool, which we had to ourselves most of the time. We had planned to do more but because the weather was so good we decided just to chill. Our visit to the local cognac distillery was a highlight and hearing about the family history with the business was really interesting. The walk into the village was nice and the shop had the basics if you didnt want to drive into Jonzac. The meal in the Chateau recommended by Shelley was fantastic and very good value. We would definitely recommend staying here if you are coming to the Cognac region.

Summary: Words alone cannot describe the wonders la cannonerie has to offer from the simple but very tastefully decorated interiors almost boutique hotel in If you are after a holiday that offers peace and quiet but has all the comforts of home (better weather) then this is the place to go.

Summary: Just come back from a week in one of the amazing cottages here. I thoroughly recommend you chose this place for your next French holiday. The cottages are finished to an exceptional standard, with all the mod-cons, washing machine/tumble dryer, wi-fi, big flatscreen TV/DVD player, british Freeview etc etc. Location is perfect, 1hr to the coast and easy access from La Rochelle or Bordeaux which both serve very cheap flights from the UK all year round. Perfect as a home from home, Talfryn and Shelley will provide you with all the info you need for the region, from local Cognac tastings, to the best markets in nearby towns such as Jonzac, Saintes, Pons and Angoulême. Can't wait to head back and get in the pool in the summer!
