Gooseberry Trailside Suites have recently been upgraded and offer a relaxing, cozy and updated place to stay while you explore all the North Shore of Lake Superior has to offer. This property borders Gooseberry State Park, the most popular state park in Minnesota, with access to the Nordic skiing and mountain biking trail system right out the back door. Guest can also jump onto the Gitchi Gami State trail for those who want to bike or rollerblade on a smooth paved trail with access just across the road.
With the close proximity to Gooseberry Falls and Splitrock Lighthouse, as well as Two Harbors, Duluth and Lutsen, there are year-round opportunities to venture out to go hiking, biking, skiing, snowshoeing, snowmobiling, sightseeing, swimming and much more!
Great for groups both large and small, there are 4 - two-bedroom, 3-bed, one bath apartment style suites on the property that can be reserved individually or together for a total of 24 people. Lester Suite is carpeted and no pets allowed.
Each suite has its own entrance as well as its own deck with a grill and outdoor dining table. In addition, we've added a beautiful new fire pit area, for a quiet evening with smore's and quality family time. The sauna just adds to that North Shore experience!

Summary: I had told the boys from some of the reviews. I read that “you need to bring a fan. There’s no air conditioning.” And I told them that it was last minute, so I wasn’t really sure what we would get. To all of our surprise, it exceeded our expectations.! Very nice. We were very comfortable. The awesome sauna the fire pit. Our only problem was a bunch of bugs. Mosquitoes had gotten in our room, somehow not really sure how but we spent a lot of time that night killing bugs and the people below us complained because we were walking around a lot and probably a little louder than normal trying to kill all the bugs, my advice would be to make sure your door is completely shut when you’re bringing things in or if you’re using the grill, etc. make sure you shut the door. Maybe next time we could hear the people below us talking and laughing quite a bit but that’s to be expected in a four Plex , we just talk amongst ourselves The place is very close to Gooseberry Falls, the pink rock beach!
