Derry Hill- Welcome.
This self-catered, detached, beautiful family home is set on its own private lawn and landscaped grounds. A five minute car drive from the renowned West Cork villages of Glandore and Rosscarbery, the house overlooks the charming Roury valley and river.
During the summer rental period, June 1st through August 31, Derry Hill is available a minimum of 7 days with arrivals on Saturday afternoon anytime after 3p. Our extended cleaning crew is great but their availability is limited to the weekend.
Featuring four bedrooms: three doubles (1 master en-suite) and one w/2-twin beds, the house can accommodate 8 persons very comfortably.
The open-plan, ground floor incorporates a superior, hand-crafted kitchen furnished with solid, beach-timber cupboards, black granite countertops and island unit, integrated appliances, and many more extras.
Positioned conveniently next to the kitchen is the open plan Dining Area which overlooks a lawn, wild meadow and a preserved forest at the bottom and side of the hill.
A large open-plan Lounge Area with high ceiling, solid-timber flooring and open, stone-faced, wood-burning fireplace provides exceptional levels of natural light, beautiful views, and access to a 12 by 12 foot stoned patio through large French doors.
A self-contained, fully furnished, studio apartment (sleeps two plus a fold-out couch/convertible bed) above the detached garage is also available to rent for an additional 350 euros a week.
At the top of the driveway a large garden overlooks the house.

Summary: We had plenty of room and because there were a lot of us it was good that we were not too near any other people. I do think the house is in need of some re-painting inside . The road that leads up to the dwelling is extremely narrow so it was a good job our family are careful drivers

Summary: Well equipped, spacious house with a great view. Four big bedrooms, three bathrooms, enough space for a family or group. It's really quiet and peaceful. The garden is beautiful. The kitchen is huge and well equipped for cooking. And there is a barbecue! A great house to relax after exploring the beautiful area.

Summary: We were two families with young children, staying together at Derry House. The house was warm, clean, and comfortable and satisfied all our needs. The playroom and the large, safe garden were put to good use. The kitchen was very well equipped, with lots of storage available for our use. The only negative point I’d make about the house was the lack of poper lined curtains in the bedrooms. The bedrooms were very bright which led to small children waking early.

Summary: This house was great and we enjoyed our stay very much. Nora is a lovely person and very helpful if we had any questions. The kitchen is well equipped and plenty of space for a large group to have a nice meal together. There is also lots of space for kids to play with a separate games room. The house is located a bit of a distance out of town so plan on doing a bit of driving to go see the local sights.

Summary: What a wonderful place to be! Derry Hill is a beautiful property that has all the comforts of home! It was a great place to be to explore County Cork. We were always happy to return in the evening after our adventures. Nora was so kind and considerate, as well providing a wealth of information. And her scones are delicious! We hope to be able to come to Derry Hill again!

Summary: we stayed as a family including my 90 yr old Dad. Great to have a bathroom downstairs for him and a playroom which can easily convert to a bedroom downstairs. Beautiful area surrounded by farmland and trees. It is 3 k to Roscarbery so you would need to drive as the roads are very winding and there is no footpath. The local towns of Ross. and Glandore are really lovely. Great pubs and eating places. Excellent beach near Ross.This house is a good base for travel to other local beauty spots.

Summary: Derry Hill is a beautiful well appointed and very well maintained house, which is very obviously a much cared for and loved home to its owners, as we felt very much at home ourselves as soon as we arrived. The pictures bely the sheer expanse of the property, and there was room for everyone to have their own space, which is vital on the rainy days in West Cork, of which thankfully this summer there were very few. It was perfect for our young children as all of the bed rooms are on one level, and the vital playroom meant there was down time for everyone! This house is really well situated for swimming in The Warren beach, Red Strand and Tragumna so you are never short of choice and we found that we were back to the house really quickly in the evenings with the starving masses to get the dinner on in the beautiful kitchen. Our favorite holiday memories are the family volley ball match! Cooking and baking in a kitchen fit for restaurant catering and barbecuing in the evening with sun going down over the Roury Glen. Summary: We spent a wonderful week in this cosy family home and enjoyed the space both inside and outside. The house is very well equipped and offers everything a family with kids can wish for. We loved the huge garden with two football goals, a volleyball net and a lovely sitting area, but we also made use of the many board games and other games from the playroom. We had a great time there, though it must be said that the house isn't all that sound-proof and seems to carry noise like voices and very creaky floorboards. That would not stop us from coming back, though. We loved our holiday and would certainly book the house again.
