4 Bedroom House in Heemstede

A lovely 6 persons townhouse (140m2), completely renovated with modern stylish interior and a beautiful sunny garden. At 5 min walking distance from station Heemstede / Aerdenhout, the train brings you in 20 minutes to the heart of Amsterdam. The dunes and beaches of Bloemendaal and Zandvoort only 10 min by car, 20 minutes by bike. 500 meters from our house you will find a regular and organic supermarket, a variety of restaurants and local shops. Parking with a permit, we provide this free of charge. You can also use our bicycles.
Groundfloor.
The living room has a seating area with a large sofa, a flat-screen smart HDTV (Netflix included) and a Bang & Olufsen sound system. With authentic room ensuite doors you enter a sunny spacious open kitchen with a large dining table and a wood stove. The kitchen is equipped with a Nespresso coffee machine, gas stove, dishwasher, oven and fridge with freezer. Our drinking water is filtered with an Osmosis filter, delicious ultra clean water for drinking or cooking. There is also a Soda stream to make your own filtered sparkling water.
Through 2 large patio doors or the kitchen door you enter the sunny south facing garden where a lounge set for 6-8 people and a sun umbrella to relax and enjoy long sunny days.
On the first floor there are 4 bedrooms. Master bedroom is approximately 30 m2 and has a kingsize Hästens double bed of 2. 20 x 2. 20. This room is bright and overlooking the garden.
The other double bedroom (25m2) has a kingsize adjustable Auping double bed with 2 separate mattresses of 90 x 180.
The other two bedrooms are single bedrooms (7 m2). One located on the garden side. The other one is at the street side.
The bathroom has 2 sinks and 2 showers, a washer and dryer.
The two toilets are separate, one on the ground floor and one on the first floor.
A variety of restaurants can be found in our street. You can choose from a no-nonsense pizzeria or enjoy a delicious evening of Australian Cuisine.
We prefer to host families or couples. We also welcome companies who are attending exhibitions or events. Longer stay available on request.
No indoor smoking, no parties but good vibes and great memories.

Summary: I travelled with my family to visit some places in the Netherlands. Our location was ideal in being near Amsterdam and the beach without being in the bustle of either. Our hosts were so helpful and kind. We had a thorough review of the house and the neighborhood as well as check ins during the stay. To say that the house is well appointed is an understatement. We had everything we needed for a comfortable stay along with stunning decorations and the ability to prepare meals or get them nearby. What else could we ask for? This is a gem!

Summary: Lovely spacious home to return to at the end of a busy day exploring - lots of interesting artifacts, pictures and plants. It is less than 10 minutes walk to the station for trains into Amsterdam, Harlem, Zandvoort or futher afield, but also a good starting point if you have your own transport too. And bikes are provided if you want to use your own steam! Hosts are really helpful and responsive to every question before and during the stay - they even lent us an extra bicycle so there was one for everyone. Highly recommended.

Summary: This home is a wonderful base for exploring the Netherlands. The space has been carefully curated with a quirky personality that makes it a very special place to stay. You’ll be surprised and delighted by the artwork and decor that adds unique flair. The beds are comfortable and the home is very well appointed. The hosts went out of their way to welcome us, spoiling us with delicious treats. All the mod cons of home were on hand, including filtered water and a washer and dryer. We took advantage of the bicycles supplied to explore Haarlem which is delightful destination for shopping and eating. The train station in easy walking distance made travel to Amsterdam as well as other locations incredibly easy. The shops nearby offer a supermarket, butchery, fishmonger as well as bakery. All in all, this home was the ideal holiday home and a very comfortable and unique choice for a family wanting to explore the Netherlands. I would definitely recommend it.

Summary: Our family needed a comfortable and relaxing home base after our day trips around the Netherlands. This place was perfect! It is so close to the train station and within walking distance of quaint shops, bakeries and restaurants. This artfully decorated home was spacious enough for five adults and the outdoor space was cozy. Our hosts were more than accommodating and extremely helpful! It certainly made our trip more enjoyable!

Summary: Wonderful location and gracious hosts!! Ecclectic property! Excellent for our family as everyone had their own space! Close to the train and all necessary ammenities. Hosts were VERY helpful through the booking and planning process and even during our stay as needed!! They also had a lovely snack for us on arrival which was very much appreciated after a long overnight flight. The backyard patio was a wonderful place to relax! They also have bikes to use (so we only had to rent a couple) which made exploring much more fun!

Summary: We had a pleasant stay at Bernice`s house. We were 5 people: 2 couples and 1 individual. The room and bed in the individual room were a bit tight for an adult, and we had to share 1 shower; but we made it work. If there are no disruptions on the trainline, you could easily be Amsterdam Central in 20 min, after a 5 min walk to the train from the house. The house is also a few bus stops away from the beach, which was a fantastic find! Bernice was super responsive and readily available to support on all requests. Recommended for a short group stay!

Summary: This home was absolutely perfect for my family (2 adults, 3 older teenagers)! I especially appreciated the 5-8 minute walk to the train station, busses, and grocery store. We used the kitchen quite a bit and found all essential supplies readily available. We were also grateful for a very nice washer and dryer to accommodate a couple loads of laundry. I hope to be back in the future!

Summary: This was our first trip to Holland and Bernice made us feel very welcome in her home. There was plenty of space for the four of us and we enjoyed staying in such a creative place. We especially liked congregating in the kitchen/diner and wandering outside into a pretty garden with sofas. The house is well located for public transport and we travelled between Haarlem and Amsterdam and visited Marken,The Hague and Zandvoort. We walked alongside the canal at Heemstede to Haarlem and got to know the area well. Our overall impression was very positive, and the Dutch people we encountered were friendly and good-natured and willing to help. We made good use of the supermarket about 10 minutes walk from the house. Staying in this property was a good experience and we have happy memories. Thank you Bernice for your hospitality!
