6 Bedroom House in Hillcrest, Lake Placid

The comfortable Acorn Cottage is a 6 Bedroom, 4 Bathroom home which combines the perfect location with all the amenities of home. With less than a 5 minute walk to the heart of Main Street and located across the street from Maple Street Park - you are sure to have some fun. Whether you're looking to hangout on the playground, play basketball, spend time around the fire pit or have a drink at your very own private bar. With fantastic mountain views and beautiful Adirondack sunrises - Acorn Cottage is perfect for kids or adults to enjoy.
The finished walkout basement includes a rustic pub with a game room, bar, foosball table and even a payphone! The Basement also includes a family room with a cozy fireplace, oversized leather chair with ottoman, comfy couch and a 60" smart TV with full cable. 2 of the 6 bedrooms are located downstairs which include 2 "bunkrooms". The Downstairs is rounded out with a full bathroom including shower.
The open floor plan on the main floor has a large dining room table which can seat 8. The centerpiece to the living room is a large granite fireplace. Also on the main floor is the library which is also an also serves as the perfect TV sitting room to watch TV, read a book or play one of the many games in the home.
The large kitchen invites the Chef in all of us. The Viking stove and oven are high-end appliances, combined with the large butcher block countertop allow for the easy preparation of home cooked meals. The kitchen is fully stocked and has 2 dishwashers, coffee maker, slow cooker, Keurig machine, wine fridge and much, much more!
The back porch has a new Cuisinart propane grill, Adirondack chairs and a private back yard with a firepit and adequate seating for the entire group!
The second floor of the home has 4 bedrooms and includes the King bed Master Suite which features a large master bath with large tub and shower, a large walk in closet, sitting area and a balcony with the hot-tub.
The center of the second floor has a built in home office with a 32" monitor, keyboard, mouse and printer. Just bring your laptop and you are ready to surf the web, check-in with the office or get some personal business taken care of while on vacation.
There are 3 additional bedrooms on the second floor including a King bedroom, Queen bedroom and an additional Queen bedroom with an extra Twin. Overall there are 6 bedrooms include 2 Kings, 2 Queens, 2 Fulls and 5 Twins (11 total beds easily accommodating 14).

Summary: The house is deceptively large and accommodated our large family group with ages from 1 to 74. The location is ideal. It is just a few minutes walk from the downtown area (steep hill included) and very close to a playground. There are lots of restaurants and take out food places and all the outdoor activities you could want. Just remember to bring plenty of toilet paper!!

Summary: This house was terrific for our group! Very easy walk downtown, which was ideal for athletes and spectators, yet far enough removed from the stress of downtown leading up to the race. We ate in a few nights and found the kitchen to be well stocked with everything we needed and appreciate the large living space to hangout. Great experience!

Summary: The pictures don't do it justice! So much more spacious than expected. Kitchen is fully stocked with all you can need for cooking and feeding a crowd. The younger group really enjoyed having their own space downstairs. And those seeking quiet, found it in the library room. Just a quick walk and you are on main street. All around a super stay.

Summary: We had a great stay at this gorgeous home and enjoyed its close proximity to the main drag in Lake Placid, in addition to grocery stores, hiking trails, etc. It was clean, super inviting, and a great space for a big group of friends. The home had everything we needed.
