Positive: The location is fabulous. Amazing views from the bar and lounge area across Loch Long and the mountains. Very easy walk around the village and up to Artgarten Lodges where there is a lovely cafe situated beside Artgarten Lodges. It is evident that the hotel is trying to update. The bar area and toilets were lovely. The staff were all really lovely, especially the lady on reception and the lad behind the bar. They were so helpful and professional.
Negative: The stairs to the room, the carpet was tired. The room we had was extremely small, the wall at the side of the bed, very little space to get in and out, looked like it had been damp. The room was very tired. The shower room was modern but the shower not great. The bed was on a slope but was clean, cosy and we did have a good sleep. View out the window of our room was into a sky lit room we just kept the curtains closed. The hotel is dated and old, lots of noise from the floorboards as people where leaving or going to breakfast in the morning.
Summary: Good value for money, if we had been staying longer then we would have asked to move rooms.

Positive: We did not have any breakfasts during our stay so can not comment on it. The locaction is fantastic it we really enjoyed Arrochar and would come back. The Loch view from our room was excellent. We got our car parked in the car park everytime we came back to the hotel so that was really good. The staff were excellent really friendly and helpfull and our room was clean and fresh and warm.
Negative: We were in room 59 and the bed was really uncomfortable we think the mattress should be replaced and we had very broken sleep during the stay which was a shame. Our room only had 1 curtain aswell so we had to improvise with a blanket. The shower head needs improving it is more or less a water jet sticking out of the wall a couple of inches. There is no welcome pack in the rooms but there are leaflets in reception. The lift does not work which is a problem. The carpets in the corridors were dirty but its a pet friendly hotel so you can accept that. The parking pemit system is a bit of a chew on as you have to do it daily and not just once when you arrive. The windows were really dirty which spoilt the fantastic view a bit.
Summary: Overall we enjoyed it but it was a shame the bed was so uncomfortable and one curtain missing.

Negative: Shower took a long time to get warm. Sink tap was warm very quickly so wasn’t sure what was wrong with the shower.
