Located privately on the mountainside overlooking where the New River meets Claytor Lake, In the Cloud’s Cabin is certain to take your breath away. Equipped with luxury furnishings and a large deck with a gorgeous view this is the home to book if you’re looking for a tranquil retreat. Spend your evenings fireside watching the moon over the river and your mornings sipping coffee on the back deck when the clouds come to meet the lake.
In the summertime be sure to bike the scenic New River Trail (only 2 miles away, bike rentals available at the Draper Mercantile located next to the trail), rent a motorized boat or visit the lake beach Claytor Lake State Park (only 18 minutes away), or float the river and go horseback riding on the New River Trail Foster Falls State park (only 30 minutes away). In the winter enjoy the fall foliage, evenings spent by one of the two gas log fireplaces, nights playing pool downstairs, or a snowy view from the back deck. This property has it all!

Summary: The perfect location for a weekend getaway. House was super clean and plenty of room for the whole family. Kids especially loved the game room downstairs. Highly recommend.

Summary: This reservation was the fourth or fifth made via VRBO and we were always quite satisfied with the accommodations recommended. The cabin was as advertised, very conveniently located for our visit, and very clean. However, we would like to make these points which we found bothersome and which might also be the same for future guests. The refrigerator icemaker and water dispenser were inoperable. Filled plastic trays were in the freezer.The dishwasher door was locked, as if it was in the middle of a cycle, but it would not restart. So, we could not use the dishwasher. Watching TV has its issues, with no cable. I failed to bring my passwords to streaming channels, so we resorted to DVDs, of which there were only 3, geared to teenagers and young adults. There was an abundance of DVDs for young children, which is a good thing. But, for adults and "seasoned" citizens, there was little for our age groups. The bedding in the basement bedroom was not what one would have expected. The plastic shield, the super-thin mattress, and the over-sized sheets made sleeping an unpleasant experience. The temperature in the two upper bedrooms was unexpectedly warm. I make these comments with the genuine hope they will be received in good faith and help make your lovely facility an absolute joy it could be. Rosemary Brame

Summary: The property had only one Tv on the basement. The kitchen was not to the par. The doors could not open easily. The master bedroom door could not close. The same for the master bathroom. Also the shower curtain in the master Beth room had mold in the bottom. Hot water was scarce. Only three people could shower in hot water. The rest of the guests needed to wait to talks a shower. Ladybugs were everywhere. Not worth the money we paid.
