Wanting to get away? Need time to relax and get off the grid for a while? Enjoy this Private, newly remodeled, 2 bedroom 1 bathroom lake front cottage, as well as a separate Carriage house with a bunk bed (full on the bottom, twin on the top with an additional twin mattress and two chairs that open for twin sleepers). Sleeps 9 comfortably.
Our kitchen is fully stocked with all of the spices you will need, kitchen-ware such as pots and pans, glass ware, microwave, glass top stove, blender, and an air fryer to name a few amenities we offer.
Towels are offered for our guests as we provide a full bath with a walk in shower, running hot and cold water, and a flush toilet, We stock many travel sized items for those who may have forgotten toothpaste or shampoo, etc.
There is a large screen tv with surround sound offered with a dvd player and dozens of movies to choose from. Games are also provided for rainy days and nights of fun!!
Bedroom 1 is equipped with a very comfortable select comfort queen sized mattress. There is an end table on each side of the bed and a closet for your clothes and other items.
Bedroom 2 has a full sized bed, an end table on each side of the bed, and a closet for your clothes and other items.
Bedroom 3 is the Carriage House at Longview Cottage. This is a separate dwelling for those of you who like more privacy and want a little separation. Or it is a place for the kids to bunk in their place. It has a full-sized bunk bed on the lower and a twin size on the upper. Our carriage house was built with you in mind as we provide a large flat screen tv, a fire place and another heat source for warmth, Atari game system and plug in games for the kids. Many board games are also provided for those rainy days or for those late summer nights.
Again with you in mind, we have a large 12x 30' deck with a grill, table and wicker furniture, and other deck furniture for you to relax and enjoy your stay. Grill your meal and sit around the table or just lounge in our chaise lounge chair. Need something to drink? There is a Liquor store within 15 minutes drive. Otherwise, you can relax on our hammock with your loved one and swing in the breeze.
We are centrally located to many amenities. We are close to several golf courses, beautiful wineries, Atv/snowmobile trails, and national parks. Drive up to Copper Harbor, or go to Garden peninsula and transfer back in time with Fayette Historical State Park while learning about mining on the peninsula in the 1800s. Enjoy Eben ice caves in Alger County, Michigan, or try your hand fishing for world record fishing/ice fishing 30 minutes away in Little Bay deNoc,
Try your hand traveling to the dozens of waterfalls within and hour or two drive (Bond Falls, Tahquamenon Falls, Munising Falls, Miners Falls, Sable Falls) etc. and much more! Enjoy kayaking on Lake Superior at Pictured Rock National Park (which is only an hour away).
We are located 2 hours from Macinac Island getaway!! You will be transfixed on this island and taken back in time. You will enjoy shops, walking around the island, visiting the forts on the island, We are centrally located to see dozens of waterfalls, lighthouses, nature trails to walk, many local restaurants, and many lakes to fish all season long.
Relax on our private sandy beach on Lake Michigan’s Big Bay deNoc. Enjoy the bays sandy bottom as you can walk out knee deep for 200 yards or more!! Provided are 5 kayaks, 2 SUP boards, a paddle boat, life jackets, and bikes to ride,
Watch beautiful sunrises and sunsets and have fires on the beach while watching bald eagles fish. Wild life can be plentiful as the Monarchs settle nearby on Stonington Peninsula as they get ready to migrate in the fall. Drive north to see the seasons beautiful yellow, orange, and red fall colors in early October and enjoy peak season mid-October.
Enjoy our amenities such as our 5 kayaks, 3 bicycles, SUP Boards, corn hole, large yard Yahtzee dice game, and a paddle boat (all included). Or relax in our hammock located next to the shore. Explore cute little local shops or sip wine at the local winery. Many restaurants to choose from only 30 minutes away. We provide a listing at the cottage of our local favorites!!
Many golf courses are nearby and very inexpensive to play. Each course provides beautiful greens, challenging holes, and hours of fun with your friends and family.
In summer, fish or paddle in our kayaks, or swim in the lake. Bring your own fishing poles. At our site, you can wade in the water for many yards before it gets too deep. ATV trails are minutes away!! Or relax in our quiet private beach area. Local wineries are in nearby towns. Explore lighthouses that line the coast of Lake Michigan. Take walks on trails that follow many rivers.
In winter, bring your snow shoes, skis, or snow machines and ride on the many trails located nearby. Go ice fishing on nearby Little Bay DeNoc where there are world record breaking walleye, norther pike, perch, and other fish. There is plenty to do and we have guidebooks available as we have done our research!
Please note there is no WIFI come ready to unplug, unwind and enjoy all the UP has to offer. There is, however a cell signal booster in the cottage.
Garbage cans are near the road next to the garage for easy access and dropoff.
