Summary: Myself and my wife live in Florida and we’re planning to visit her parents there in Guatemala. I found this place on the Home Away site. After carefully looking thru several other homes, this home Chatelet Des Alps just seemed to good to be true! I went ahead and booked two rooms for 8 nights, one for me and my wife and one for my wife’s parents. We arrived at the home a little after dark and was amazed at what we walked into... this place was Beautiful! It had everything you needed and more. The website pictures could not express enough the beauty in the furnishings and decor. The very oversized kitchen was equipped with everything you ever needed. Our rooms were very neat and clean and the baths had plenty of hot water! When we woke the next morning and took a walk outside, I realized that it was indeed “A little Taste of Paradise!” This location in San Lucas, being between where my in-laws lives in Mixco and Antigua, made this the perfect location. It is also walking distance from shopping and some pretty good restaurants. The staff at the home were always very kind and helpful.... Especially Johnny... he took the old saying “Johhny on the Spot” to a whole new level!!! Johnny went out of his way to make your stay very pleasant as well as comfortable. “What else could you possibly ask for?” Well wait, there’s more... Johnny even has a mini van to loan out adding even more possibilities to your adventures! For a reasonable price we rented the van and drove about four hours to a place in the mountains called Fuentes Georginas. It is a national park that has several hot water pools. The drive up the mountain and the views were absolutely stunning! The pools were nicely heated from the water coming out of the rocks. There is also a few eateries on location. I am about running out of space to write here, but highly recommend you to choose this property in your future travels. S. Hopkins of Pensacola, FL

Summary: Our experience: Needed to spend some time with my family and my in laws, and we had the time of our lives, Johny is quite a host, he prepared us a fancy table for 16 people so that we could stay together in every meal, the surroundings were impeccable and the decor scheme made it so perfect we were surrounded by fine taste and smart thinking, J is for sure a great host. We will come back next month for my mom’s birthday. THANK YOU J, YOU MADE OUR STAY UNFORGETTABLE

Summary: Hello everybody, just recently was announced that I had to work in this beautiful country Guatemala, I am currently working in an embassy in Argentina and I decided to visit this country before I move in with my family to our new home in Guatemala, I had the chance to see the surroundings of this beautiful country and I had the luck to book this marvelous property of J, This Amazing property is glorious, close enough to Antigua, it takes only 5 minutes to get there, this Chateau is surrounded by forests , birds serenate every single morning and every single sunset which I saw from my window , IT WAS BEAUTIFUL.! J the owner took us to the supermarket where we bought groceries that the cook prepared for us, J´s staff is so friendly and always willing to help. the house is huge and sunny ! you can see every single detail that J has put in this amazing property, the gardens are huge , Events can be host in here and the swimming pool is sun heated. we had so much fun here and we will come back anytime we can , We will move to Guatemala in the next couple months and even though we might live in capital city we will keep on booking this property every single time we can that welcomed us like we never expected, GREAT JOB J. Patricia , Eva and I say hello! GOD BLESS

Summary: From the moment we opened the door and the complementary bottle of wine, we explored this amazing house. It is absolutely gorgeous and after traveling in Guate for 4 weeks the hot water with high pressure and clean cloro pool we could not felt More welcome, it was such a change. The location is literally as close as you can get to down town without paying the boutique hotel pricing we drove and were at center in 8 minutes. What a great spot the pool is lovely Surrounded by all this beautiful garden We highly recommend this chateaux and we will be using it every time we travel through /guate which is at least once a year. Thanks for the hospitality john !! Oh and the staff is great the house helper even finished my load of laundry and folded it and had it waiting on the table. I am a chef and cooked breakfast and dinner with ease int his modern brand new kitchen with all the fixins. The refrigerator is large and cold and you just can beat it. The silence in the night was welcomed as well after the travels and having dogs, buses and Gallos roaring all night everywhere else in Guate, we welcomed our friends to this house while we had my birthday party in here. J did a great job with this house. He even decorated the gardens to have a pool birthday party it was really amazing ,We Had such a blast. After staying a whole week in this house , J recommended us to book his house in the beach which was amazing too, what a way to spend my birthday's vacations booking J's properties ! We have no regrets at all! Thank you J and God bless you!

Summary: I came back to Guatemala city after 35 years , I was born in Guatemala and raised in the states, I've got Married 5 years ago and decided to show my wife and kids where I was born, we decided to book LOS COLIBRIS and believe me , the house is just amazing ,pictures do not make any justice, so huge , elegantly decorated under the supervision of J the owner, he is a great guy, he helped us so much while we stayed in our beloved Guatemala, we booked just one week but we felt so great with this house , that we booked another extra week and guess what , I brought my in laws to the house, J was very supportive he picked them up and the airport and brought them to this amazing house, it is a 3 story house , well ventilated, beautifully decorated, the gardens are huge and beautiful, we enjoyed so much the pool and this house that we did not even go out . Antigua is just 5 minutes from here on a driving distance. This house is Perfectly located you can go almost anywhere from here avoiding the traffic . We felt so sorry about leaving , but if this review can help you out , believe me ITS IS A DREAMED HOUSE. I cannot wait to come back and enjoy this house again , thank you J. We love you and we will miss you see you next year. Gracias!!!!
